"We'll use the safest route. It'll take about 3 days to reach Xeonodan," Orina said. Two concord carriages were sent to take us to the capital. They came here within a day by traversing the more dangerous routes. One carriage was occupied by 5 guards while we were to take the other. Orina would drive our carriage.
We got on the carriage in a much brighter mood than yesterday. Jane and Artelick had a hold of themselves and were slowly returning to their stupid-couple antics, whereas Nea was completely back to normal, lifting the mood with her aura alone.
The town was the complete opposite, though. As we passed through the streets, one could see the people nestling about in small corners and anxiously talking about what went down and who is responsible. The parts around the station continued to be a disaster scene even today as dozens grieved their losses.
We eventually left the town...

"Alright, here goes... What do you guys think Molfgang Wozart's up to these days?" I asked, leaning towards my fellow travelers. "Decomposing"
"Alright, that's it!"
"Three strikes, Sirius. Please stop now"
"Ms. Alice, do you really sit through this every day?"
Jane and Artelick subtly insulted me. Even Orina gave her much wanted input.
Are my jokes bad? You guys don't think so, right? Right? Hah, of course, you don't! I am amazi — YOU DO?!
"Every, single, day. You guys will never know what it's like," Nea spoke up. Well, I don't mind her comments. The day she called me 51 was the day her identity as a philistine extraordinaire was exposed. She will never know art.
"Hah~ You guys can go easier on me... Anyway! Tell us about the capital, Artelick. What's the place like?"
"Well, Xeonodan is... political, haha!"
"Don't ask Artie. he can't describe things for the life of him, I'll tell you. The capital is filled with people, like, filled. And... uh..."
So SHE was the one who couldn't describe shit! Stop this stupid couple before they end mankind as we know it! One of us doing that is more than enough!
"Orina... would you mind?" Nea asked.
"Hm! Me? Miss Alice? Yes, of course! I'll do whatever you say!"
In case you haven't figured it out, Orina was never hitting on me! Nea completely swooned her!! She is dripping from her mouth even right now! How can I be the only normal person around? Ah, I see, I am not normal; I am special! Of course!
"You are thinking of something stupid, right?"
"No more jokes, please. Keep them saved for when you meet my father."
"What do you mean, Artelick? Do we have to meet your father?"
"Huh? Are you being Sirius, Sirius?"
Jane drops an amazing pun! I knew it. My jokes are not only good, but they also inspire you to make your own!
"I am taking notes, Jane! What do you think of performing on a stage?"
"Alice, stop him, please! Don't let him influence my wife!"
"Hey, don't shake me! I won't, ok? I won't!"
I barely calmed Artelick down and saved the carriage from capsizing. We sat in silence for a while.
.
.
.
"Wanna play Durak?" I asked.
"Cards?"
"I always have cards."
"He says he is a professor of magic theory but spends most of the day gambling in pubs."
"Hey, you! Well, whatever."
"Haha, why are you putting on airs in front of us? We knew you were a major gambler since we played poker," Artelick chimed in.
"Wait, when did you distribute the cards?"
"Diamonds is the trump this time."
Like that, we started playing. I consecutively won 5 games before Nea figured out how I was cheating. As punishment, I switched with Orina and drove the carriage while she played – not, simped all over Nea.
Really, why do people like that girl so much?
We passed through many towns in our attempt to stay clear of the dangerous roads. The carriage with the guards stayed in the lead and scouted out every place we stopped at. Money and authority can really do wonders, huh?
We stayed in inconspicuous hotels for the night. Orina, probably misinterpreting whatever signals Nea gave her, tried to crawl on her in the night. While I was sleeping in the same damn room. You could guess how that ended. What? You can't? Consider yourself lucky then!
Yadda yadda, blah blah, we pretty much repeated the last day before finally reaching the capital.
In the end, no one described what this city was like...
