"So what's the information that you have selectively withdrew from me about ranking up?" Shawn asked as he waited patiently for the system's reply.
*As you continue to rank up, you utilize more energy to use in maintaining your worlds. This is the reason why you were asked to create a timer
"So what if I didn't create a timer?" Shawn asked.
*Then the amount of stress that your body could experience will be excessive*
"So literally each time I spend here saps the remaining energy left from an already stressed day?"
*Yes* The system replied.
"But wouldn't that drain the limit that my body can take?"
*The system is careful not to drain too much from your body energy which is why you were given two hours before you were brought here*
"So you mean that my already gathered strength is already being sapped?" Shawn said.
*Not really*
"Huhn! What do you mean?" Shawn was confused.
*"....."*
The answer that the system provided was more than enough for Shawn to just sigh. He hadn't ranked up enough.
"Whatever, let's just get down into today's business?" Shawn gave up on trying to gain information from the system. He'll just have to rank up so that he could gain access to even more information. The system won't completely sap his remaining body energy right?
Right?
"Let's see what exactly we have got to do in today's 1,500 years of history"
And like that, the watch of history continued.
At the Northern continent,
The great river Islen flows from the center highlands to the south eastern plains, the pristine water that comes from the river is believed to contain a lot of magical properties by those who live near the tributaries and flow regions.
This great river appeared a few decades ago and had changed the dynamics of the region.
One of those who have supernatural beliefs in the river are the long lost distinct siblings of one of the mana beast races the wolves once ruled by Blan, the Ancestral Wolf.
A few metres from the flow of the great river a great numbering of rocks lied in an arranged circular fashion. In the middle of this orderly arrangement lied a large rock. A large wolf lied on the surface of this rock.
"The Head Wolf Shaman" A wolf that was about to step into the area covered by the rocks said.
"Do not come anywhere close Fenris. The sacred land is not to be touched by anyone other than the Thirty Seven Shamans" The Wolf on the large rock in the middle said.
"Heather. Can't the most powerful Ancestral Child be allowed to enter the domain of the Head Shaman?. The Bloodline of the Ancestral Wolf is not something to remove" Fenris said.
"Blood is thicker than Water. One must not draw a line between natural inheritance and granted blessings especially not when contesting the rules made by an higher being" Fenris added as he looked at the large rock that heather lay on.
After the great departing, the culture of the Wolves of the Plains took a large turn of revolution. The wolves began to practice shamanism and worship of the great ancestors.
The belief that the Ancestor Wolf of the Grey Wolf Clan was the closest to the world creator and the twelve ancestors known as the Ancestral Wolves who were under him and obeyed his every instruction.
Those who dealt with this were known as the Ancestral Children, leaders of the Ancestral Wolves and the Elder Child, who was known to possess a few powers related to the Ancestral Wolf.
They were made stronger than the average wolves and had different fortes along with skills granted to them by their Ancestral Figure.
All this happened shortly after the great departing when Blan was made an Higher Being. One of the requirements for this was the Ancestral Children and the Elder Child to have a lineage with the Ancestral Wolf and Wolves.
The Shamans were individuals who had a high affinity for the energies to the extent that they were blessed by the Ancestral Wolf to utilize sensory energy in majestic ways including communicating with the Ancestral Wolf and the Twelve Ancestors.
They were also known to showcase powerful skills related to healing and divination as well as some special abilities that dealt with any of the energies that they were in tuned with.
This new breakthrough revolutionized the clan and raised it's status in the south eastern plains. But with great power comes great responsibility.
"You Ancestral Children are always getting obsessed and arrogant about how your helm of your power is high. But I have no fear of any of you" Heather said.
"Heather are you challenging me?" Fenris brown eyes released a glint.
"If the 36 shaman wolves do not dare to correct you, I will" Heather did not back down.
"A good medium to teach you your place would be a revocation" She said.
"You don't need to do such if you have power" Fenris said as he proceeded to step inside the circle of rocks.
"Your wish then" Heather replied as she stared at Fenris who had committed a taboo.
Heather's silver eyes suddenly glowed as the rocks in the circle formation changed from their original colour to white.
"Fenris, the elder child. You have broken the laws which your predecessors have followed. This is unacceptable and therefore you shall be punished" A thunderous voice reverberated from Heather.
Her silver skin released an intimating aura that was visible to the naked eye.
"Voice of the Ancients. How nice" Fenris mocked. He howled loudly and a fiery aura emanated from his grey skin. This aura was strong to the extent that it dies his skin red.
Heather harrumphed as she raised her paw and began to create the city . She smashed her palm down on the rock that she was on and a generated a loud shock wave.
Fenris could feel the force of the attack. He tried to leap out of the attack zone but he ended up getting hit by the shock wave and blasted out of the circle rocks.
Fenris growled at Heather before he bellowed a loud howl and generated a sonic boom towards the Head Wolf Shaman.
A grin appeared at Heather's wolf face as she swiped her left paw towards the attack. The left paw glowed as the sensory energy was utilized. "Sensory Barrier!" She yelled.
The left paw collided with the sonic boom and deflected it somewhere else.
The deflected attack hit the area outside the circular rocks, causing flying debris. Her eyes glowed as she opened her mouth and a round ball composed mainly of mana formed inbeetween her jaws as she released it towards her opponent.
Fenris growled even more as his brown eyes had turned red "Fire howl!". He howled as the fiery aura that surrounded him gathered at the front of his mouth and blasted the incoming energy ball.
This collision caused a large explosion on the ground.
"So you came here with the intention to kill me?!" Heather's voice boomed.
"You finally noticed" Fenris replied.
"You're only standing a chance against me because you are within your territory" He added as he compressed a red mana ball at the base of his mouth and shot it towards the rocks that made the circle.
"Pfft" Heather scoffed.
The red mana ball struck the rocks with a powerful force.
Debris spread and the area was covered with smoke. "Once the rocks are scattered, the weakness should manifest." Fenris said.
The smoke subsided and revealed a clear view to the naked eye of the effects of the attack. The rocks were still glowing and in their white phase but one could see that a part of it had been charred and blasted off from the rocks surface.
"Hmmm, it seems the weaknesses of your power has revealed itself." Fenris smiled.
Heather who was overflowing with power growled. She has sensed that a part of her power had been sapped off. Her intimidating aura had lost some of it's feel. And she knew that Fenris could also sense it.
She had used her skill 'Burning Conversion' to burn the sensory energy that she had gathered from entering the sensory realm and earned while performing her shamanistic duties. 5 ounces of sensory energy brings in 30 seconds of a large influx in mana power for a wolf shaman of her level.
For the past 12 minutes, she had burned 120 ounces of sensory energy to use in the fight. Apart from burning, she was using her sensory energy for her divination to predict his next attacks.
Overall, if the battle continued for long, the situation won't look good for her.
"I'll wipe that smug look off your face!" She yelled as she opened her mouth and began to shoot mana balls towards fenris.
The mana balls flew at a fast speed towards the Elder Child who began to run and jump while avoiding the destructive mana balls that caused debris anywhere it touched. "You're already losing your ground" Fenris smiled as he howled and released a sonic boom while running.
A/N - Yes, I'm back. Thanks everyone for holding on and I'm sorry for the wait. I'm still busy but I can manage one chapter everyday or two at most. I hope you guys won't take this to heart.
Also, the system responding will now be in [] format.
Heather stared at the Sonic boom fenris had released, a vast surge of wind collided with the rocks causing chunks of it to be blown off.
She felt another loss of energy in her body as a part of her connection got broken by his attack.
"Now. That is what I was expecting" Fenris said as he continued to encircle the rocks.
"This should do the trick" He said as he opened his mouth allowing another mana ball of fire to form and swirl.
Heather immediately knew what he was on about. "He can't use that technique." She thought as a silver aura manifested from her and she decided to use her best defense.
"I can't beat it because it's aiming for the rocks" She thought as the silver aura gather at the top of her mana.
"Aura Shield!" She yelled as the aura that shrouded her burst forth to the rocks forming a transparent layer around them.
At that point, Fenris released his attack
"Vortex"
The ball of red mana that he had created swirled towards the rocks and hit them with a powerful force colliding with the Shield she had made.
The ball swirled with its black extensions trying to eat deeper and deeper into the layer.
Heather could feel her barrier becoming unstable and so she made her final move.
She used the ounces of her sensory energy to form another aura, much powerful and much more stronger than the previous ones.
"Aura Burst!" She yelled as the aura around her burst forth blowing debris and the rocks away causing even Fenris to cover his eyes as the entire area with the rocks exploded.
When his eyes could finally see the damage done, the Head Shaman had escaped.
"Hmmm" He thought as he stared at the blasted rocks.
The sounds of paws touching the ground interrupted him from his daze as he turned to see twelve more wolves heading towards him.
"How did it go?" He asked.
"They self destructed their domains and escaped the area" One of the twelve wolf replied.
Fenris turned to the river that flowed and glared.
"They were ready,"
Across the river, a large group of wolves ran through the plains following the inverse flow of the river.
Among them was Heather.
And behind her were thirty six other wolves and a large number of wolves running with her.
"Head Shaman, the plan was successful" One of the wolves said.
"How many wolves have been evacuated?"
"Across the plains only seven hundred wolves decided to follow us" The Wolf replied.
Heather shook her head "And so begins Fenris tyrannous reign" and with a flick of her paw, the wolves resumed their journey gathering wolves who had made it to the river to rush up all the way to the origin.
Here, the terrain shifted to steep slopes where the large pack of wolves stopped at the sight of a tall highland.
"This is where our new home will be" Heather said while looking at the oppressive mountain that birthed the great river.
Back at the Plains, a large pack of wolves stood close to a large rock where a certain grey wolf sat on.
They then released a howl before lowering their heads. "All hail The Elder Child, Fenris the supreme leader of the Grey Silver Wolf Clan!"
Fenris stared at the twelve wolves sitting at both ends of the rock and turned to the wolves as he proudly addressed them "My brethren, today our clan will rise up even greater than the Ancestral Wolf raised it"
He continued "We will move out our forces and put the clan under our control" He said.
At another part of the plains a large number of wolves stood beside the rock made cave that six figures emerged from.
One of them proceeded to step out and address them "Thank you all for coming,"
He then got to the main point "We have received reports that Fenris lead an attack at the Shamans Rocks and has decimated the area."
The Wolves released growls after hearing the words "This action is one that has been taken against the Six Clans of the Grey Silver Wolf and we will not tolerate such." The Wolf declared.
"Fenris has gathered a large number of wolves to follow his cause to usurp the balance that has always kept our clan high and we must put a stop him"
"But how?, Fenris has the support of the Ancestral Children with him, wouldn't they crush us with their might?"
Other wolves then pointed out the words spoken agreeing with the wolf who spoke them.
"Do you think that your Clan Leaders are weak?" The Wolf pointed out.
"Do not fear for we are behind you" He assured them.
"Prepare yourselves for you will have to fight an enemy" He shook his head before turning back to the cave, the other wolves following behind him.
The Six wolves then formed a circle as they discussed "It is unfortunate," One of them said.
"Very unfortunate" The others agreed.
"The Shamans were right, why didn't we believe them?" Another wolf asked.
"Now Fenris was ambitious and made the action out of his own interest." Shawn said as he threw popcorn into his mouth.
His eyes then brightened "What if, people now claim that their actions or events were influenced by some type of being. That would make sense right?" He thought.
"Demons, Yokai, Spirits and many more..."
"I wonder if Kadan would create another school focused on repelling that" He laughed as he checked his quests.
"Hmmm, two realm races definitely fit the narrative" He said as he touched the tab, pausing the watch before calling the system.
"System, a realm race please"
The tab changed into a plain one that listened almost everything he needed as a creator.
"Hmm, Overview, Worlds, Realms, Powers…" he muttered as he continued to look down the tab before finding one called Races.
He clicked on it and the screen changed to show him the names of all the races he had created, their worlds as well as the energy they used.
After scrolling down for a long time, the tab showed an option called 'Create New Race'
He clicked and the tap changed to show 'Realm or World?'
"Realm" He said.
In front of him were the realms and the Worlds they belonged for now, Yorn did not have any realm except from their physical one.
The physical ones were grey areas indicating that they could not accept any new race.
"The only realms left are the Intermediate/Sensory realm and the Realm of the Soul Hunters"
Shawn pondered for a while before making a decision as his finger tip touched the tab "The Intermediate realm seems to be a good fit for what I plan to do"
The room changed, becoming a white one.
"System, you improved the features after logging me out during the weekend" he remarked.
A tab appeared in front of him asking for the description of the race and the drawing.
"How am I supposed to draw this race?" He said as he tried to form a mental image.
After forming the image, he proceeded to draw it and when he was done, he described what he wanted.
"Neither male nor female, just entities that can be formed in the realm because of the emotional state of one who enters it. If the emotional state is of imbalance or negative, they can be formed and made to roam the realm until they ensnare another beings mind that accesses it."
He then paused, "However, they can also be defeated if the being they are trying to ensnare is strong enough to resist their influence to enter their mind and possess them in the real world."
He then looked at what he had drawn, a triangle face with two diagonal lines, a circle neck, body as a square and four lines as limbs.
"Plus, they have five tiers, the higher the tier, the more beings they can possess and the stronger their influence due to their increase in negative energy with each tier being depicted as an additional two diagonal lines. If the being's mental state if more powerful than them, they will avoid"
He then clicked complete and the tab disappeared before a mechanical voice spoke to his ears [Since the race is based of emotional state, do you want to spawn them or let the races do it themselves?]
"Hmmm" He thought.
"I'll spawn a hundred of them for now"
[You haven't given them a name "..."]
"I'll name them Ikkies"
[A suitable weird name]
"Indeed" Shawn replied, before the system left him alone and the white area reverted back to the cool room he knew.
"Time to start watching what i was interested in" He said before he sat back on the couch to watch the situation at the plains.
A large number of wolves rushing towards each other and baring their canines came to his view.
