Chương 13: Going to a Cave

Ren and Evelyn were currently looking for a place to rest.

Even though her body was still frail, she forced herself to walk because she did not want to burden him.

"By the way, what is your name?" he inquired.

Actually, he already knew her full name, age and rank of her Mage class because he had used the Appraisal feature on her earlier.

He pretended to know nothing because it would be weird if he suddenly knew everything about her.

After all, they only met twice, and it was their first time talking to each other.

"I'm Evelyn, Evelyn Faens." Evelyn introduced herself. "What is your name?"

"My name is Ren Starfall." He responded, "Oh, right. What are you going to say to your organization about your senior sister and junior sister?"

"I will tell my master the truth." Her master was a reasonable person, so she was not afraid of telling the truth. "Don't worry. I won't mention your name later."

"Well, I don't mind if you say I killed them." he was the one who killed them, so he did not mind if she revealed the truth.

Evelyn was startled by his words.

'He is not afraid of our organization? Is it because he doesn't know the name of our organization?'

Even though her organization was not the strongest in the world, but it was still in the category of powerful organizations.

'Well, he is strong, so I can understand where his braveness comes from.'

She did not make fun of him because he was indeed an amazing awakener.

As they walked, her steps were getting slower and slower.

Her body was still frail, so she got tired easily.

"Ren, can we rest for three minutes?" She could not walk anymore, so she wanted to rest.

"Sure." He agreed instantly.

'It seems like my guess is right.'

He added in his mind.

After resting for three minutes, they walked again.

However, Evelyn asked for another break shortly after.

Like before, Ren agreed instantly because he knew her condition well.

"I know a cave in this area. How about we rest there?" he slept in that cave last night, so he still remembered the location of the cave.

She nodded her head. "Alright."

"We can rest five more minutes if you want." they were in a fairly safe place, so he did not mind if she wanted to rest for another five minutes.

"No. It's fine." she wanted to reach their destination immediately because the cave was a safer place to rest.

As they walked side by side, she tripped over a rock, causing her to fall and sprain her right ankle.

"Ouch!" even though she was a powerful awakener, she was still a human being, so she could feel pain too.

"Are you alright?" he held her hand to help her up.

"I'm alright." Her body tightened when he held her hand because no man had ever touched her before. "Let's continue walking."

She tried her best to hide her trembling and nervousness because she knew he only wanted to help her.

"Un." He nodded his head.

As they walked, Evelyn gritted her teeth and endured the pain.

The condition of her right ankle was getting worse, so she felt pain every time she took a step.

For this reason, she fell again because her right leg had no strength.

But unlike before, Ren managed to save her this time.

He caught her before she fell to the ground.

*Silence…

Evelyn looked at his dark grey eyes when he caught her.

Coincidently, Ren also looked at her beautiful eyes.

The duo stared at each other for about six seconds before finally stopping.

"Thank you," Evelyn uttered.

"It seems lik-" Ren stopped his words halfway when he caught sight of her right ankle.

'Her ankle is sprained.'

He did not notice it earlier because she walked normally.

"Your right ankle is sprained. Let me check my space rings first. There may be a cure for your sprained ankle." He immediately checked the space rings he took from Zara and the others.

Evelyn did not say anything.

She only stood before him and stared at him.

[Host, just carry her and use the Lightning Movement skill to go to the cave.]

Ren ignored his system and kept checking his space rings.

'Good! There is an ointment.'

He retrieved the ointment from his space ring.

"Can you sit on that stone?" he said as he pointed his right index finger at the stone on his right side. "I will apply this ointment on your sprained ankle."

"Un." She did what she was told and sat on a stone.

Ren held her right ankle carefully before finally looking at her. "Tell me if it hurts."

"Un." She nodded her head again.

As he was applying the ointment on her right ankle gently, her eyes were locked on his face and his gentle treatment.

'My guess is right. He is not a bad young man.'

Based on how he treated her until now, she believed he was a good young man because he always treated her nicely, and he also considered her feelings.

There was not a single time he looked down on her, considered her a burden or looked at her with disdain.

It was as if they had known each other for a long time, not several minutes ago.

"Done!" he stored the ointment in his space ring and smiled softly at her.

"Thank you, Ren" She uttered.

"I think it's bette-" before he had finished his words, the sound of a Lion's roar reverberated in the entire area.

Ren and Evelyn turned their heads reflexively toward the source of the sound.

'Lion's roar?'

Even though they only heard the roar, they knew it was a Lion's roar.

[Host, leave this place immediately. Based on how powerful the roar is, the system suspects it's a 3-star Lion.]

'3-star Lion?'

He hated to admit it, but he did not have the strength to defeat 3-star magical beasts for now because his Warrior class was only at the Elite rank while his Mage class was only at 1-star.

"Evelyn, we should leave this place immediately. I think it's the 3-star Lion I saw yesterday." He lied to her because he could not tell her about his system.

"You met a 3-star Lion yesterday?" she said.

"Well, I only saw him, but he did not notice me." He kept lying to her. "Let's leave now. It will be dangerous if that Lion sees us in this place."

"But…" she did not finish her words and looked at her right ankle.

[Host, the system suggests you carry her and use the Lightning Movement skill now.]

Unlike before, Ren listened to his system this time.

"I'm sorry about this." He did not ask for her permission and immediately carried her in a princess style.

It was related to his life, so he did not care about his image this time.

"Mmm?" Evelyn was taken aback by his sudden actions.

Her eyes widened for a second and her body tightened because it was her first time being carried by a man.

Of course, she was not angry at him because she knew he wanted to protect her.

'This feeling is…'

She felt a foreign feeling, but she did not hate it.

'Ren…'

She lifted her head to look at his handsome face.

No!

She was not in love with him!

Maybe because it was her first time being carried by a man, so foreign feelings enveloped her heart.

"I will use the Lightning Movement skill now." he wanted to reach the cave as quickly as possible, so he was going to use the Lightning Movement skill.

"Un." She nodded her head.

'The Lightning Movement skill? Is it the skill he used before?'

She suddenly remembered the time when Ren moved from one place to another in an instant.

As Evelyn was looking at his face, sparks of blue lightning appeared on Ren's shoes.

His running speed suddenly increased several times, and a trail of lightning was left on the ground.

The falling leaves were blown into the air, and the 1-star turtle rolled over when he ran past it.

His speed was so fast that it created a gust of wind.

*Zzzz…

In less than five seconds, they reached their destination.

Ren stopped using the Lightning Movement skill when they were in front of a cave.

"We have arrived." He said as he smiled.

"Un." She nodded her head.
