Chương 84: The System Is Acting Weird

"System, come out." Ronald pretended to be on a phone call again and called out the system.

"You've seen that new guy, Ling Feng or whatever his name was, right?"

"Why does that guy seem like another protagonist? I thought Ye Fan was the only protagonist in this world."

[I'm not too sure, host.]

[Although I don't know if he's another protagonist or not, I can confirm that he does radiate protagonist aura off of him, just like Ye Fan.]

After hearing what the system had told him, Ronald's jaws dropped.

This practically meant that Ling Fang was another protagonist.

And if Ling Feng was actually another protagonist, wouldn't that mean that Ronald would have to do the plots involving Ling Fang as well?

"So does this mean that I have to play my role as a brainless villain infront of Ling Feng as well?"

To be honest, Ronald didn't want to become a punching bag for another protagonist, after all, he didn't want to suffer more humiliation than he already has.

[No, host. You don't have to act like a brainless villain in front of him.]

"Huh? Really? Why?" Ronald was completely caught off guard by the system's answer.

Since Lai Meiyun, one of the heroines in this novel world, is now apart of Ling Feng's plot now, Ronald had been almost certain that the system would force him to act like a brainless villain.

But knowing that he doesn't have to actually act like a brainless villain infront of a protagonist for once, Ronald was honestly extremely happy.

[Even though Ling Fing does have plots that he has to go through and complete, I have confirmed that you're not in any of them, host.]

"Hmm I see, then can I try and kill Ling Feng then?"

Since Ling Feng was another protagonist that has his own plots to complete, Ronald was worried that Ling Feng might cause the butterfly effect and make too much changes to this world.

After all, unlike Ye Fan who is just extremely lucky, Ling Feng was most likely a rebirth who would become incredibly overpowered in the far future.

Of course, Ronald wasn't afraid of how strong Ling Feng was going to get in the future, he was afraid that Ling Feng will do something stupid and hinder Ronald from being able to complete his future plots.

[I'm not so sure host and I won't stop you from doing so, but I don't recommend trying to kill him.]

"Oh? Why's that? He'll most likely get in my way and prevent me from finishing the future plots, am I wrong?"

[No, host, you're not, but remember that you still have the Villain's Aura and Fate bounded to you. That alone already gives you a huge disadvantage against him.]

"So? We don't know if we don't try."

"..." Although he didn't know why the system wanted to disencourage Ronald from trying to kill Ling Feng, he could feel how worried the system had sounded...

Did the system know something about Ling Feng that Ronald wasn't aware about?

Or was the system... just worried for him?

After thinking about it for awhile, Ronald decided that although he wasn't going to try and kill Ling Feng, he was going to have to monitor him a bit and see if he should be worried about him or not.

So with that in mind, Ronald started to head straight back to the Gu family manor in order to recharge his energy.

"IRIS! PLEASE STOP IT! I"VE TOLD YOU SO MANY TIMES THAT I DON'T KNOW WHERE HE IS!" Gu Yuan used all of her strength to muster out those words while Iris was currently choking her.

Gu Yuan pretty much had spent the entire day today getting tortured left and right.

First, it was Ronald who had tortured her by throwing her in a pit full of snakes in the middle of nowhere.

And then the moment Ronald had decided that it was enough for today and dropped her back home, Iris instantly barged into her bedroom with bloodshot eyes and had been strangling and repeatedly beating her for the entire day now.

"SHUT UP AND TELL ME WHERE HE IS!" Iris had gone completely insane and wasn't buying it at all.

Iris knew that the reason why Ronald had disappeared from the public eyes in his last life was because Gu Yuan had actually kidnapped him and tortured Ronald in her torture chamber for about three weeks straight before allowing Ronald to go back to the Kuangge residence.

And now that Ronald has once disappeared again in this life, Iris was positive that it was Gu Yuan who had kidnapped him once again.

"W-Why d-do y-you care about him so much? A-aren't you suppose to be Ye Fan's right hand woman?" Gu Yuan couldn't help but ask.

She was positive that Iris didn't care about Ronald at all in her previous life and had only been following around because Ye Fan had ordered Iris to.

And speaking of Ye Fan, Gu Yuan absolutely hated him to the bones.

Why?

Because Ye Fan was the one who had instigated her to continue to torture Ronald.

Yes, although she was mainly at fault for torturing Ronald to begin with, if Ye Fan didn't continue to keep asking her to torture Ronald even after he had gone back to the Kuangge family, then maybe, just maybe Ronald would've leave her alone.

But no, Ye Fan had to just keep asking her to torture Ronald, and she was the one who had to suffer the consequences in the end.

"DON'T YOU MENTION ABOUT THAT BASTARD'S NAME INFRONT OF ME!" Iris then threw Gu Yuan onto the floor, pulled out her dagger, slammed one of Gu Yuan's hand onto the floor, and then used the dagger to impale Gu Yuan's hand onto the floor.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" Gu Yuan couldn't help but started to shed even more tears and screamed out on the top of her lungs.

"IF YOU DON'T TELL ME WHERE RONALD IS RIGHT NOW, I'LL POKE YOUR EYES OUT!" Iris grabbed the other dagger she had been hiding from her leg stockings and aimed it directly at Gu Yuan's eyes.

Just as Iris could do anything else however, she heard some movements in the room Ronald was staying at.

So she stopped everything she was doing and instantly rushed over to his room, leaving Gu Yuan completely in pain and stuck on the floor.
