Chương 9: Companion
The Cresent Dorm. The name of boy's residence. The residence is specially designed for apprentice magicians(students). One room is allotted to two students. And this sharing sequence is made by using various methods like academic performance. But I purposely told that oldie(headmaster) to put me with prince.
My room number was 80. I got the keys from the dorm manager. The room was surprisingly luxurious. All accessories were a bit high class. The room was divided into three parts. One for my private room, other one for prince, and last one as common area. I chose the left one and settled perfectly. It took lot of my time. I didn't even knew that night arrived. I got changed into pajamas and got out of my room. And I saw that prince has arrived.
I sat on the sofa of common area and waited for the prince to come out of his den. After a while, he came out to introduce himself. It was necessary to get along with roommate. But the prince didn't knew that I was his roommate. He was shocked when he saw me. I told him to sit. Then I said
"So, prince. I told you that we will meet again, haven't i ? It's a good reunion."
"So, this is what you meant back then, Eric Valhard. But I have a doubt?"
"What is your doubt, Mr. Honor student?"
"How you were able to arrange the same room as me? The headmaster doesn't listen the requests of any high noble, so It was impossible for you to use your lineage's reputation for this setting. So how did you did it?"
"Hmmm..."
I was thinking how to answer this question. The prince was observing me very closely. Then I replied
"It is very simple. It is because I am strongest magician of the empire."
The prince suddenly laughed. He was laughing so hard that tears were falling out of his eyes. I was also laughing with him. Then he suddenly turned serious and was glaring daggers at me. He started using " intimidate" to make me spill truth. Then he spoke like an interrogator
"Tell the truth or I will forcefully make you spill the beans."
Seeing his face was making me laugh. But I controlled it. Then I said
"Prince, this low level of intimidation will not work on me."
I snapped my fingers and in a flash, the skill was cancelled. The prince was baffled. Then he asked
"How ?? "
"How? It is simple. I am the strongest. "
The prince was still doubting me. Then he said
"As a hypothesis, if you are strongest then you should be able break the barrier of the academy. Show me that you can do it."
The barrier of academy is made by one of magicians who fought in frontlines along my ancestor. His name was Paul. This barrier is something he made by using all his lifetime research. Except the top caliber magicians of the empire, nobody is able to make a dent on the barrier. I said
"Okay. I will do it. But let me take permission from oldie."
I used telepathy and conveyed my message. The headmaster was furious after hearing my message. But eventually after arguing for a time, he gave permission. I told the prince to observe the barrier. I lifted my left hand and used pure blaze. A blue flame ball appeared and I fired it. Pure blaze is the final spell in low fire tier magic. It needs pure mana and the handling temperature skills. Many people can't do it because pure mana is very scarce. And if mana is more pure, then the blaze will be more destructive.
In a flash, the barrier broke. Prince was highly shocked. For hiding purposes I casted "sonic trap" to stop the sound.
Then I repaired the barrier and prince was in front of me. He was heavily soaked in sweat due to unexpected circumstances. He asked me
"Who are you? And why you are hiding your power?"
As first I thought of lying but then I thought that maybe he will be useful in future. And if I befriend him, then it would be more great. So I replied honestly
"My name is Eric Valhard, son of Duke Valhard and last disciple of Valhard."
Then the prince was once again shocked, but it looks like he build some immunity to shocking revelations. Then everything began to fit his head and he found the my reason of being strong.
Then I said
"The reason of hiding powers is so that I can live an ordinary life."
The prince was puzzled. He couldn't understand my excuse. I then perfectly made him understand. Then he sat down and bought out his right hand. Then he said
"So, whatever you are, now we are roommates. Let's become friends. "
I was happy. After all my first friend in another world. I also shaked his hand and we talked whole night about our hobbies. And in this way, I got my first companion and friend in magic academy.
