Chương 79: Chapter 79 Hospital
The next day John woke up early and got out of bed before he got dressed. The only weapon John kept on him now was his katana. John walked out of the room and down the stairs.
John entered the kitchen and started brewing some coffee. He them sat on his leather chair as he drank his coffee. He looked out the window and saw that it was raining lightly. It was a light rain, but it was constant and it didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
John looked at his watch and saw it was 6:00 am. John chilled for a while till he heard some noise from the bedroom. John got up and walked up the stairs, going into his bedroom. He saw little Cassy moving about in her crib, she smiled at John as soon as she saw him. She raised her arms, John picked her up and kissed her cheek.
John then carried her out of the room and down the stairs. He walked into the kitchen and grabbed some baby food that was made. It was pureed peaches and apricots. John then sat down on his chair as he fed Cassy. She was so cute, she would smile at John after every spoon with some food dripping from her lips.
John then spent some time with Cassy, for the next hour it was just the 2 of them. Then Amy came down and joined them, she kissed John and sat on his lap as they watched Cassy play with her doll on the floor while she watched a kids movie. The rest of their family began began to file down the stairs.
When everyone was down they sat at the dining table and Carly started cooking some eggs and bacon. They had decided to stay inside today, maybe visit some of their friends at their houses. It was around noon when a know was heard at the door, John walked over and opened it.
Rick was standing there in a raincoat, John let him in and they walked into John's office. As soon as the door closed Rick said, "We have a problem."
John's face got serious, he said, "What's up?"
Rick said, "A group of people have gone missing after scavenging in the city. Sasha, Bob, Tyrone and some others."
John asked, "Any clues to what might have happened."
Rick said, "They sent a distress message, right before all contact with them was lost."
John asked, "Where were they approximately?"
Rick said, "Well, their target was a Hospital. Grady Memorial Hospital."
John said, "Alright, how are we going to handle this?"
Rick said, "I am sending a team into the city to search for them. I came here to invite you."
John nodded and said, "Although I don't give a shit about Bob, I still like Tyrone and Sasha. I'll come with. Who else is coming?"
Rick said, "Hmm, Daryl, Merle, Glen, Lee, and I."
John said, "Alright then, when are we leaving?"
Rick said, "About 30 minutes." John nodded then he led Rick out of his house. John then sat back down and enjoyed some more time with his family. When they heard about the missing group and John going after them, they worried a little. John calmed them down and said, "When have I ever not come back?"
His wives calmed down some but they made sure to kiss him before he walked out the front door. John wore a black fedora and a black trench coat. He only had his desert eagle and his sword. John walked down the road and passed by several houses.
John arrived at the meet up point and saw the group sitting in the car. Karen was standing outside talking while in a panic. When she saw John walking over she ran up to him and started spitting out words so fast she could best Eminem.
John calmed her down and patted her shoulder before he got into the SUV. Rick then started to drive out of their neighborhood. They drove out of the front gate and sped of to the city to look for Tyrone's group.
John looked out the window and saw the huge farm. John then started talking to the guys and teasing them about their ladies. Merle tied to fight John, but he was in the front seat and John was in the back. They all sighed as they were relentlessly teased.
John stopped after a couple minutes and began to ask how things were going in their relationships. John learned many things and it was quite the enjoyable ride. They started talking about their plan as they neared the city.
They would first check out the area around the Hospital. Then they would check the ahospital to find the reason of the groups disappearance or radio silence.
When they arrived in the city, they had to leave their vehicle. The roads were filled with abandoned cars. As they walked down the streets, they saw that some buildings had been burned to ashes.
They walked in a formation and when they reached the vicinity of the Hospital, they went into one of the taller buildings. They walked through the entrance and cleared any walker that popped out of the rooms. They found the stairs and started climbing to the rooftop.
When they opened the door, they killed about 10 walkers. It was a sad scene, it looked like these people had camped out on the roof, waiting for help that would never arrive. It seems like they died of dehydration as there was still some food lying around but no water.
The group then walked to the edge and started to scope out the Hospital. Lee and Rick were using their rifles and Daryl was using the binoculars.
Rick described the Hospital and it seemed to be overrun. Rick said, "The main entrance is surrounded by a fence, but there are walkers within the area. The main entrance seems secure though.
But Daryl saw movement inside the Hospital. It might be walkers or humans. Daryl also told them that whatever they were, they wore police uniforms.
They were moving around on the 4th floor. The group was unable to see the number of people. John looked at his Map and saw 6 yellow dots and about 10 blue dots.
The group then began to discuss how they would deal with them. John said, "We should throw a rock through the window with a note. We need to resolve the issue with care."
Rick nodded and said, "Yeah, we don't know what this group will do to our people."
Lee said, "We should arrange a meeting."
John said, "Yeah, we should be fine even if it evolves into a gun fight. If these people have been in the Hospital since the beginning, they will be weaker than us. They don't know what it's like to have no home."
Everyone nodded, Daryl volunteered to hand off the note. He said, "I'll attach a note to a bolt and shoot it into the window."
Everyone nodded and John said, "I'll cone with you just in case something unexpected happens."
Daryl nodded and they were off, Rick and the other stayed on the roof, following them with their rifles and binoculars.
When John and Daryl were close enough for Daryl to shoot his bolt. Daryl attached the note and shoot it through one of the windows. John noticed something on the Map and turned around quickly. Pulling his pistol out, he shoot three times, hitting a car that was 50 feet away killing the engine of a car that was coming towards them.
Daryl turning and focusing on the car pulls out his revolver. The car made it 40 feet before it stopped. John and Daryl then made their way to the car quickly, 2 men started to get out. They pointed their weapons at John and Daryl, but John and Daryl weren't taking chances. They both shot one of the men in the shoulder, before they ran up to them and disarmed them.
Zip tying their hands behind their backs, they grabbed them and dragged them of. They walked through the streets, heading back to the rest of the group.
