Chương 44: Chapter 44

Pleasure coursed through her body, making her throb between her legs.

He ran his tongue down her neck as her fingers dug into his back. She moaned out his name when he rubbed his fingers against her core. She was soaking through her panties.

"Damon!" She cried out in pleasure, her fingers running through his hair and gripping it. He held her leg up and placed it on his waist, gaining better access to her core. Then he tugged the fabric of her panties aside and slid his finger into her. She threw her head back, her eyes shut and her lips parted. She was so beautiful that he wanted to stop and gaze at her, but when she ground her core against his hand, he rubbed her clit with his thumb and watched as pleasure took over her entire being. He knew that she was close, with her core throbbing against his hand, but then he stopped.

She opened her eyes in confusion, then her blood ran cold when she realized what she was doing. It wasn't that she didn't know who she was making out with, but her rationality had been clouded in the heat of the moment.

He saw the change of expression in her eyes and held her hand. "Don't. I know we are not in the best terms right now but don't blame your body for wanting someone."

"Don't flatter yourself." She rolled her eyes and pulled his hand out of his.

He chuckled. She would never admit it, would she?

"Cut yourself some slack, Vee." He blocked her path. "You don't always have to be perfect. Not that you aren't, but you should allow yourself to be human."

"Did you come here to lecture me about how I see myself?" She crossed her arms in disdain.

He knew when to stop. "Pf course not. I came to spend time with my son, which I should probably get back to doing. Lead the way."

She stared hard at him. She wanted to convince herself that he didn't mean to sound leud but the look in his eyes gave him away. How come she didn't ever see the wolf behind his innocent gaze.

Since he wanted to watch her backside as she walked out, she turned around and gave him the show he wanted, even wiggling it slightly. When she turned around and saw the obvious bulge in his pants, she chuckled and quickened her steps.

He was much faster and grabbed her before she could get away, and pinned her agaisnt the wall. She gasped at the sudden coolness against her chest but his hot hands traced her back soon after.

Her eyes widened when he pressed his body agaisnt her, his hardness right on her butt.

"You did this to me, and now you find it funny?" He nibbled on her ear.

The sound of rushed footsteps made them pull away from each other just in time for Angel to come running to them.

"Mommy, papa!" He waved a sheet of paper at them.

"Baby, what did you draw?" She crouched to inspect his drawing, this time being careful not to flash the man behind her. She felt him looming over her to check the drawing, and he chuckled when he saw it.

"Did you draw us, Angel?" He recognized the man in the drawing as himself, and the woman as Avery, and he was standing between them. He had even clumsily colored their clothes using his crayons.

"It's so beautiful." She praised him and patted his head.

He then looked up for his father's approval.

Damon's heart melted. "That's my boy."

He cheered happily and held the drawing up to his father, who accepted it, intending to have it put in a frame.

"Don't worry. I will give you one." He teased Avery, who he knew was jealous of him for getting Angel's drawing.

The trio had played for the rest of the morning, and Avery had ended up staining her dress so she had to change—which was a relief to him. Not that he didn't think she was beautiful in the dress, but she was so sexy that he nearly couldn't stop himself from grabbing and kissing her. While he didn't think she was too much against him doing that, Avery was less predictable than the weather in Olphire. She might be alright with it one moment and breathe fire down his neck the next.

Alas, his relief was short-lived as she came back wearing a pair of shorts and a black T-shirt with her hair in a high ponytail. It reminded him of the 23-year-old Avery, fragile and innocent in every way that counted, who couldn't wait for him to "tarnish" her as she liked to put it.

She didn't spare him a glance as she walked past him to Angel and picked him up.

"Baby, would you like to cook with mommy? We can play a game." She coaxed.

He nodded excitedly and looked over at Damon, who smiled.

Would she die if she asked him to go to the kitchen with her? It might not have sounded like it but she had only asked Angel first so he would ask him.

"Since you want me in the kitchen so badly, I will reluctantly make time for you." He breathed exaggeratively and led the way. "Being this famous is difficult."

She shook her head and looked down at her son. "Don't emulate your father, Angel. He has a mango seed for a brain."

"Yet, you let the mango-seed-brain-man's fingers inside you." He looked at her over his shoulder. "What does that say about you?"

She reflexively covered Angel's ears. What a shameless man. However, that couldn't change the fact that her insides twitched at the thought of how he touched her earlier.

They draped on aprons of the same design, which she had gotten custom made for them. Hers and Angel's had angel wings drawn on them while Damon's had a demon tail. She couldn't help chuckling at how adorable they looked so she pulled out a demon tiara.

"No." Damon immediately protested.

"You don't have a choice." She placed it on his head and a similar one on Angel.

"Why do I have to wear this?" He complained.

"Because I said you have to." She ignored his protest, glared at him when he looked like he wanted to take it off and secretly took a picture of him. His expression was priceless.

When they finally started cooking, Angel was more jovial as he washed the vegetables to be the first to finish. Damon chopped them much faster than the last time but ultimately, Avery would be the last to finish since cooking took much longer.

"I'll help you." He offered.

"No thanks. I love my kitchen." She pushed him away. The last thing she wanted was for him to make the appliances explode in the name of cooking. How was he even still alive?

She kicked them out of the kitchen and finished up on her own, then only let them help her set the table.

He smiled in amusement. "You still remember what I love, don't you?" He looked at the mouth-watering coq-au-vin in anticipation. "Do you still love me?"

Chương 45: Chapter 45

A clatter resounded as she dropped a fork on a plate.

He burst out laughing. "You don't actually…"

She grabbed a piece of pineapple and shoved it into his mouth. "Why don't you sit down and eat? You talk too much."

Having dodged the bullet, he sat down and acted as though that conversation had not happened. He knew to remain silent and eat his food.

As soon as Angel finished his food, he jumped off the table to avoid having to eat the vegetables he had evaded. Avery knew what he was doing but she let him off.

He grabbed Damon's hand and pointed upstairs. He let his son lead him away and was at a loss when he pushed open the door to Avery's room and walked in. Would it be safe to enter her room, or would he leave his legs behind if Avery found out?

Glancing back to make sure she was not in the hallway, he quickly got in after his son and was confused when the boy pointed at the black computer screen.

"Angel, do you need something?" He asked, unable to figure out what he was trying to communicate.

He gritted his teeth and turned on the computer, feeling like he was hacking into Fort Knox. Avery would kill him if she caught him so he had to be fast.

The screen came on in a few seconds but he still couldn't understand what he wanted.

"Do you want to play a game?" He tried asking.

"He wants you to come with us to our vacation." Her voice caught him off guard. He had not heard her come in.

He clenched his fists as he wondered how to explain his presence in her room. However, she didn't seem to mind.

"I already told him you will be busy." She added.

"Oh."

He was deflated but he picked his son up to explain. "Angel, mommy is right. I will be very busy tomorrow and will not be able to come with you. But don't worry, we can video chat and see each other when you come back, then we will play many fun games together. Alright?"

The boy looked like he wanted to cry. He looked up at Avery but she didn't flinch, so he didn't push it.

"I'll be on my way." He excused himself before he lost it. Avery took Angel in her arms to soothe him.

"Aren't you going to see me off?" He asked.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "What are you, eight?"

"Maybe." He grinned and kissed Angel on the cheeks. "It's okay, buddy. When you and mommy come back, we can go out for fun together." He was relieved when Angel looked slightly happier and nodded, so he turned to Avery.

"Can I kiss you?"

She recoiled away from him. "You are courting death, Damon." She snapped.

"I'll take that as a no. See you soon." He winked. Something about his wink felt odd but she didn't know what it was yet.

However, never in her dreams would she expect that she would see him again much sooner than she wanted.

____

The following day.

Clauhan Island was less populated at this time of the year so she didn't go for a private beach. Besides, she wanted Angel to experience his first vacation like any other kid, and to make friends.

At first, he was sorrounded by innumerable kids, especially little girls. However, they were upset when he didn't respond to whatever they said to him so they got bored and left.

So she sat down on the sand with him to build a castle.

"Let's try again, shall we?" She laughed at their collapsed castle. "We will move farther away from the water."

They got busy building their new castle and it looked much better than the first. She caught sight of a bigger castle, taller than her, which made theirs look miniscule in comparison and she was baffled. Who had such skill?

"Nice castle, right?" A sudden voice behind her made her jump and knock their castle over.

"You!" She wanted to rage at the rude man and was even more infuriated when she saw him. "What the hell? Damon?"

"What a freaking coincidence." He wiggled his brows. "The two of you just happened to come on a vacation on the same day as me, at the same time and in the same place."

She took deep breaths to stop herself from exploding, and forcefully tore her gaze away from his torso. He was wearing nothing but trunks, leaving his ripped abs on display.

"Are you addicted to stalking?"

"It's called spending time with my son." He retorted. "Besides, he's happy that I'm here."

She looked at her son who had run over to Damon and was hugging his legs excitedly.

Her expression fell. "I want you to leave. I didn't come to this island so I have to deal with you."

He held Angel's hand and stood before her so they were face to face—although he was much taller than her. "Actually, you have to deal with me much more than you realize. In case you didn't know, Angel is my son too and I have the right to spend time with him."

"I'm not going to start this argument with you, Damon!" She gritted her teeth. "You lost that right five years ago."

"I was out of Angel's life five years ago because I didn't fucking know he existed! You hid him from me for years." He countered, relaxing his hand when he realized he was holding Angel's a little too tight.

"Because you were a scumbag and I didn't want you anywhere near my son. You don't even deserve to spend any time with him, I'm only letting you because it makes my son happy." She bit out.

His lips twitched. "Do you want the court to decide that?"

Her jaw dropped. "The court? Don't you fucking threaten me with the court!"

He let go of Angel for him to go back to her. "Now that I think about it, that's a good idea. Let the court decide whether or not I get to spend time with my son."

"Don't you dare!" She grabbed his hand, which he flung away.

"Why? Are you scared of the inevitable? That the judge will rule in my favor?" He taunted.

"I'm only scared I will have no choice but to stab you to death because you pushed my hand." She threatened, her chest heaving in anger. "I don't care what twisted imagination you have, of a complete family that you didn't take part in creating, but I promise you, Damon D'aboville."

"A family I didn't take part in creating? Are you even listening to yourself?" He interrupted.

Her entire body trembled in rage the more she listened to him. If only she could make him disappear…

"If I were you, I would…"

"How about the two of you stop?" Mabella interrupted.

"Of course the overprotective sister would be here too." She rolled her eyes with her arms crossed.

Mabella wanted to rip her hair off in frustration. "You can fight with my brother and me later. Angel ran away!"
