Chương 6: Destination
He left the mountain as he continued his journey. He would also stop along the way to train. Even after awakening, he didn't neglect it. As he made his way deeper into the forest,he began seeing signs of wild beasts along the way. Sometimes,he saw claw marks on the trees, other times he saw paw prints on the ground. He even heard roars coming from them as he headed deeper. Any other person would have been scared but Charlie wasn't. He walked in the forest as if it was his backyard. He was even hopeful of meeting a few wild beasts so as to test his strength. He hadn't realised that he was way more confident than he usually would.
Unknowingly, he was being changed by his circumstances as well as the environment. Even the bravest of people of his age would be scared shitless with the mere thought of travelling through a forest with wild beasts alone. As if answering his prayers,there was the sound of branches breaking and a heavy thud behind. He was shocked but he snapped out of it as he grabbed his sword and swung back. The sword slashed as blood flew and there was a roar of pain as the ape's forearm was injured. He rushed and jumped before swinging his sword and severed the ape's head. He landed softly as he coldly watched the beast.
"Weak,I made short work of it with only one attack".he muttered as he continued his journey.
"I need to leave as the smell of it's blood will attract other beasts in the surrounding ".
"Also,even I'm not in a hurry,I wouldn't just go about blindly searching for them. I'll just more time ". He continued before stopping to rest as it was getting dark. So as not attract the attention of the nearby beasts,he climbed a tree to rest instead of lighting a fire to keep warm. After climbing the tree,he decided to fall asleep as he was tired of the walking and needed some rest.He soon fell asleep. Meanwhile,a wanted poster of him had already been made and circulated the surrounding cities.
Many bounty hunters were already interested as they felt it was an easy job with a high pay. Some already gathered to discuss about it and were already interested. It practically became a hot topic.
"Did you guys hear about the bounty from star fall city?,I'm thinking about taking it" a bounty hunter asked his friends as they gathered in a small table,talking as they drank their alcohol.
"Yeah,we did but it's a little difficult. They don't have any idea about his location and where he escaped through. We would have been able at least deduce his general location. Now we have no clue about where he might be as of now. He might have left this region for all we know "another replied as he became drunk.
"But I feel something's amiss here. What could a boy like that have done that made after him like so?"another asked, looking forward to satiate his curiosity.
"Shhhh..." the first bounty hunter said as he hushed his friend who had no idea that what he just said was regarded a taboo. He looked around suspiciously before saying in a lowered tone.
"I heard he is the only surviving member of the main branch of the O'brien family that ruled over star fall city. He escaped from them at night and ran away. The patriarchs of the three great families are scared that if returned, he would seek revenge for his family ". He said while he was still looking around.
"So there are scared that he'll have revenge. Heh.. they deserve it" another adventurer scoffed at their misfortune .
"I heard the patriarch of the O'brien family was a nice ruler and cared about his citizens. I feel sad for his death"
"Yeah,they wouldn't have succeded. They launched a sneak attack at the middle of the night with all their soldiers and threw am explosive at the entrance of the compound, taking away many lives of the O'brien family's soldiers and experts. Even George O'brien,the patriarch's younger brother was involved in the attack. He wanted to become the ruler of the O'brien family".he continued with his tale cautiously
"What a group of evil bastards,they deserve death "
"And yet,they're still after the only survivor of the family? I must say,they really are evil"
"That's not all,two out of the three abominations of the those three bastards raped the young mistress of the O'brien family to her death. Sigh...what a tragedy".
"That's it,I'll make sure that nobody goes for that bounty. We won't be able to fight them directly but they can't do anything to us either".
"Yeah, me too. I'll go tell everyone about it". The bounty hunters roared out and went to spread the news. The news spread and soon it was known by everyone. The bounty hunters refused to go for the mission while some of the more passionate and daring ones tore off the posters. Soon, the news got even spread to other cities where the same thing happened.

In star fall city,the patriarchs gathered together again for another meeting.
"How, how could they do this?,even with such a hefty sum,they still dare to refuse?,what guts" Chu Yang thundered as he slammed the table in front of him.
"Damn those bastards, how dare them disgrace us like this?,I'll kill them all!!" Damien Dunlop said in anger.
"Calm your anger,those bunch of fools are not the problem, it's the boy we should be worried about. What do we do?" George O'brien asked them.
"I'm afraid there's nothing we can do. We just need to tighten our security,train more soldiers and hire more experts. That's all we can do,right?" Chu Yang suggested.
"You're right, that's all we can do at the moment. And hopefully, he would meet with an accident and die along the way ". George said and the meeting ended as they left to their homes.
"What a pain in the ass,such a little brat could cause me so much worry. Hmph...it's because of those little shit heads". George walked along an empty hallway as headed towards his room.
Meanwhile, Charlie was close to his destination. The journey was supposed to be for two days only but it took Charlie almost a month, as he trained along the way and also hunted wild beasts. He walked to the end of the forest and saw a small river ahead. To get to the place marked on the map,he needed to go through this river and pass through a valley before he could get there. Thankfully, the water of the river was shallow and could be crossed without a boat. He walked into river and swam away. Not long after,he got to the other side and headed for the valley. Along the way,he saw a few wild beasts and killed them. He also ate their flesh. He crossed the valley and finally made it to his destination after a month.
The place of the treasure was on top of a small tree. It was a huge tree with thick roots that covered the top of the hill. On top of the tree,there were three fruits that were about to ripe. They glowed with a gentle silver light like the moon and looked very delicious. For Charlie who had been eating roasted beast meat for a month, those fruits were like the path to heaven. He was happy and was about to rush and grab them when he saw two huge wolves walking out of a nearby cave and lied underneath the tree.
The wolves were almost two metres when standing and looked muscular. The had black fur and sharp,intimidating claws. Paired with their red eyes made them seem like beasts from hell.
"Magical beasts.." he mumbled to himself as he felt the faint spirit qi they emitted. He measured their strength and discovered that he could defeat one on his own but two would be difficult.
"Hmph,I ain't scared of you. Time to test my limits". He said as he walked to the two wolves without fear. The wolves who were sleeping woke up and stood up immediately as they looked at the weak looking creature walking towards them. They growled and ran towards him. Charlie also ran towards them and slid under the first wolf who had jumped towards him.
He stabbed it in it's underbelly, leaving a deep wound on it. Then as soon as he got up,he slashed at one of it's hind legs.
"Awwooo..."it roared in pain and lost it's balance and fell on the ground. The other wolf had reached Charlie by then and swung it's claws toward him. He dodged but he was grazed In the shoulder. He beared the pain and swung his sword towards the neck of the wolf. The sword cut deep into the wolves head,causing blood to flow as he withdrew his sword and attacked again, stabbing it the head,killing it. He walked towards the other the other wolf who just stood up and was limping. He stabbed it in the head as well,making it fall to the ground and died as well. He ignored them as he rushed towards the tree and climbed it,took the fruits and ran towards the cave. He was injured and couldn't fight so he rushed to the cave to avoid other beasts that would be attracted to the smell of the blood from the dead wolves. He ran in and blocked the entrance with a few broken tree branches and leaves before lighting a torch and heading inside to treat his wounds.
