A wretched sob from Firdaus drew their attention. He was muttering incoherently now, pleading with Jags and Sameer to forgive him.
Sameer and Jags took seats on either side of him.
"Furry bhaiya," Sameer called gently, taking his brother's hand. "It's all right, we are here, both of us."
"We're here, love," Jags repeated in what she hoped was a reassuring voice.
"What do we do?" she whispered to Sameer. "Should I call a doctor?"
Sameer shook his head. "If this ever got out...no, Bhabhi, we cannot call anyone. Tea might help – it helps me." He held a cup of tea to his brother's lips. "Drink, Furry bhaiya."
Firdaus drank obediently. Between themselves, Sameer and Jags managed to put him in a bedroom. He fell asleep eventually.
"How did you find him?" Sameer asked.
"Vijay called," Jags replied. "He knows I like to keep an eye on the two of you."
"You still care," Sameer said quietly.
