Running away from the parking garage was something that the female really did not want to do, but she had to otherwise she would have to kill someone for Lunatic and get caught by the other heroes. She was a spy for Christ's sake, not a murderer, contrary to what happened a few nights ago.
Once she found she was at a safe distance she ran into a wall and let herself go back to her normal, human self. She was shaking badly as she looked around. No one saw her and she was perfectly happy with that.
She started to make her way around the city, debating on what she should do. She gave a small cough followed by a sneeze and a groan. She patted her pockets and found a facemask, putting it on to cover her mouth.
"Great, just what I wanted. To be a sick singer. The concert is coming up too. Christmas songs, huh? Man, that is going to be hard to do, especially when I'm like this… might as well call Nathan, tell him I can't make it, and go explore. God knows that I'll end up getting forced in bed if he hears I'm sick" she gave another groan as she texted Nathan and made her way toward the piers.
She was going to scout the area out as a human. It wasn't like anyone could suspect her of anything as she looked cold and like she was about to pass out if she didn't get somewhere warmer.
The piers were a terrible place to be when it was cold since everything felt colder than it should be. Maria shook her head as she looked around for the place she snuck into. It wasn't too hard to find since it never seemed to move. "Oh look… police tape…"
Oh and because of that. Police tape wasn't ever hard to miss. Apparently, the incident took such a toll that they had to actually let Barnaby make it a scene so he could find evidence. Maybe she could look for the evidence against her and hide it. She smiled behind the mask as she started to walk towards the building.
Her steps were quiet as she didn't want anyone else to know what she was doing. Her aqua eyes were looking around to make sure she wasn't being followed as she moved even closer to the small place. She smelled the iron of blood and made a small face. "Maybe this won't be a good idea… but… It just might save me from getting thrown into jail for murder…" she nodded "yeah. This is all to keep yourself from being charged with murder."
She was trying to convince herself this was a good idea, even if it was the worst thing she could do, but hey. What would anyone do in a situation like this?
She kept walking, finally entering the building. She walked around, curiously. When she first came here, she only saw people filling the small warehouse up, but now that it was empty she could actually investigate. She started towards the area that she killed the man and figured that she would get rid of the evidence and find other things in the same process.
She looked at the spot where the man was only to find it clean. No blood or anything was found. She sighed, shaking her head. "Maybe they decided to keep it this way for in case they find anyone who is curious… like me" she gave a small groan.
Afterward she started to look around the warehouse, finding a small office. She walked to it in hopes that she could figure out something. She moved her sleeve to cover her hand as she grabbed the handle and opened the door. "Unlocked…? How unheard of"
She shook it off as she started to explore the small room, finding files. She quickly grabbed them and put them inside her coat as she turned around to leave. She found something that she wanted and she planned on using it to figure out why this warehouse was so damned important.
She ran out of the warehouse, unaware of the male watching the place. As she ran, he followed. She made her way towards her house and opened the door only to be tackled by the brute and have files fly everywhere across her floor. The female groaned, not liking the fact that he waist caught the edge of the doorway and opened her waist up. She was too dazed to say ouch or even anything at all.
Oh, how she hated the times she ran and someone would claim her as a criminal. Next thing she knew she was being lifted up by the brute.
