Édouard had his head on Charlotte's lap. His eyes were shut while Charlotte played with the locks of Édouard's hair.

"Today, I read a few things about our kingdom's governance," Charlotte said.

Édouard opened his eyes to look at her. "How was it?" He asked.

"I could not understand many things," Charlotte said.

"Ask me your doubts," Édouard said.

"I saw the noble class gets maximum benefits," Charlotte stated.

"Don't you want it to happen?" Édouard inquired.

"The non-elite class has the maximum proportion of people. They are less literate and hardly have jobs like the noble class. I used to think even they could rise like us," Charlotte asserted.

"That's how we work. We cannot see those people growing up since it will be a threat to most of the nobles. However, that doesn't mean they cannot rise at all. They can study, but have to put in more hard work than us," Édouard pronounced.

"The gap is huge," Charlotte said.
