In the evening, Édouard met his parents with Charlotte. The conversation was brief with them. Charlotte and Anneliese didn't tell Édouard that they had a conversation before.
Édouard took her to the King's Royal Garden and asked her if she had visited the garden before.
"Hmm."
"Ahh, then you may not find it joyful," Édouard said.
"I wasn't allowed to go deeper in the garden since I was not a part of the royal family," Charlotte affirmed. "Moreover, everything with you is enjoyable to me," she said, carrying a tiny smile on her lips. She held his hand and interlaced their fingers.
They started to walk and soon entered the garden. On the sides of the pavement flowering trees of camellia and magnolias were planted.
"I also planted a plant many years ago. I do not know if it has grown or not since I never took care of it," Édouard said after suddenly recalling it.
"When did you plant it?" Charlotte inquired.
"When I was fourteen," Édouard replied.
