She has never been this close to Damien before, and it did weird things to her body, especially to her poor heart, which seemed to beat at an abnormal pace and she feared that it would literally jump out of her chest at any given rate, Damien knew how much he affected her, yet he looked unbothered.

Serenity was frustrated at herself for letting these things get to her, she always tells herself that she was over him and that she an amazing boyfriend now who cared about her, but who it seemed like whenever she was near Damien, all the feelings that were supposed to be not there suddenly lit up inside her?

It felt like a situation where you love the guy so much that no matter how much he hurts you, you end up going back? This sure felt like it, excluding the part where they both weren't together.
