Chương 27: Bewildered

AJ looked down at the small baguette sandwich as if the ham from inside it was going to come out and eat him. But the fact that his rebellious, grumpy bride-to-be had changed into this eye-fluttering, fawning and beguiling little fiance. What was going on?

And now, after all that flirting, she had prepared this toast for him. If he had not seen her prepare it himself, he might have doubted that she had poisoned it or maybe added some laxatives to it. His grandmother cleared her throat, and he quietly picked up the toast and put it in his mouth, much to her approval. He suddenly felt like a four-year-old who had just eaten his most hated vegetable after much coaxing. At least it did not taste bad. The next moment, however, he dropped the toast as her evil hand landed on his thigh pinching him.
