"He is my fiancé," she confessed, and in that moment, it felt like a weight had been lifted off Devin's shoulders. At least she wasn't as ashamed of him as he had believed.

Her friend's expression changed, and Matilda could tell that she thought she was being lied to. 

It seemed to her friend that Matilda didn't want to give her Devin's contact information.

"You never mentioned having a fiancé before," her friend said, glancing at Matilda's finger and the expensive diamond ring adorning it. Jealousy flashed in her eyes.
