Max was stunned for a moment.
He remembered something.
On the detailed information about the mountain ruler, he seems to of read something about not needing to sleep much in mountain form.
"so did you explore the entire mountain?"
Lucy nodded quickly.
She enjoyed this new experience to the fullest.
Looking at everything around, while playing pranks on the poor beasts around.
Max washed his face while chatting with Lucy.
"anything interesting other than the big hole."
Lucy nodded excitedly.
She started sharing the things she found interesting with Max. joy transmitted through their mental link.
Clearly happy to share with Max.
'cute wolf, adorable bear, cute deer, ugly birds but I killed those.'
Max was speechless for a moment.
He chose not to comment and had Lucy make a cloud for him to ride on.
Max wanted to explore the mountain on legs slowly.
He was an explorer, and he found the joy in such an activity.
But what Lucy told him is urgent, and they might even change mountains if necessary.
Max had to check it out as fast as possible.
Max started flying to the edge of the mountain base and landed soon enough.
But the Mist cloud didn't dissipate.
It became bigger and enveloped his body, leaving his face and hands relatively free.
The Mist had a concealment effect, and Max thought it was necessary.
Looking around this place seems normal: trees, vegetation, rocks, small animals and bugs.
Nothing out of the ordinary on the surface.
Under Lucy's control, the ground opened into a deep hole, and Max flew inside slowly and silently.
The hole kept expanding, going deeper under Lucy's control .
10 meters. 20 meters. 50 meters. Over 100 meters underground.
The place was completely dark.
Max took out his sniper rifle and switch the scope to the night vision mode.
Soon, the digging stopped as the hole expanded into a giant, expansive underground cave.
Max was stunned, because even in the night vision scope, he couldn't judge how big this place was.
Aiming down with the sniper, Max took a sharp breath and made sure he won't make any sound.
Because the ground was filled with thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ugly beasts.
Thankfully, the hole Lucy made was deep and twisted so no light came down, otherwise the hoard would have been alerted.
This creature stands at less than one meter in height and possesses a somewhat humanoid appearance.
It has a hunchbacked posture and flesh-colored skin.
Its big head is adorned with two small red eyes, resembling sesame seeds.
Additionally, it features sharp teeth and twisted claws.
Max could recognize the ugly thing.
Oubach, an ugly creature with E-rank potential, some of them can awaken very annoying innate ability.
Some of them can mutate, reaching higher ranks, with a solo record of one reaching the B-Rank.
It's not too dangerous, considered an underground scavenger.
But in such numbers, it's a dangerous infestation.
Max kept checking the surroundings.
Soon, to his joy, he found that they were digging in the opposite direction of the mountain.
'well thankfully we won't have to change base again, but that direction?.'
Max wasn't sure, but the direction they were digging towards seemed to be kain city.
'do they have a king like existence, or is this some dungeon race's scheme?'
Max just shook his head! He didn't care much.
'let's go back Lu.'
Max glance at the terrifying crowd one last time. He actually wants to take one as a pet, since some of them can be super talented in their own way.
but he can't with Lucy, and the crow's Max won't be able to simulate any more pets.
And without simulation it's a waste to keep a mediocre pet.

Soon Max left the underground, and the hole closed behind him.
"Lucy, don't mess with them, but keep an eye on them.
If they get closer, I will consider if we should collapse the cave on them."
Lucy was dissatisfied, but she listened to Max.
Originally, she wanted to kill the ugly things, only waiting for Max's words to start.
Earlier, because Max was sleeping and their numbers were big, she decided to ask Max first.
"don't be like this Lu, I know you are strong but fighting thousands of E-ranks is too much, moreover they seem to be leaving this place and there is no reason to fight with them."
Lucy just nodded, but obviously not convinced.
