"Lead the way." Owen's words were cryptic, the only thing he said as they got ready to leave.

Shannon drove from The Omega Team headquarters to her house with Owen following in his truck. After their meeting broke up, he and Grey had huddled behind closed doors in Grey's office. She had been relieved as well as frightened when both Athena and her partner had taken her situation seriously.

There hadn't been an opportunity for them to talk in private. Not that he seemed the type to make conversation. At headquarters, he had used an economy of words, asking terse but important questions and absorbing the answers. And the night they'd been together, all the talking he'd done was to whisper to her every kind of erotic, dirty word she could imagine and then some.
