The Mordhas brothers stared at each other.
“Tell me,” Taigh said coldly. “Is this…letter opener the silver letter opener that had a garnet on the end?”
Arras’ eyes fell to the ring, “They do look like they are made from the same silver.”
Taigh tilted his head, “The one that sat in the top drawer in our father's library desk?”
With his best vampire stare, Arras raised an eyebrow and said, “I wasn’t allowed to go near that desk, so I wouldn’t know.”
Taigh growled, “Arras! You saw it! You watched father use it every day while he sat at that desk!”
“That simple, little thing father used to open correspondence?” Arras didn’t blink as he replied, “It just might have been that letter opener.”
Andrew slowly raised a hand, “Hey, it happened a long time ago. It was just an object, right?”
Taigh turned his angry gaze to Andrew, silencing the young man with his fiery gaze, “You of all people should know how important an average looking utensil can be.”
