Thomas yanked her hands away. Abruptly. Lunging back, he glared at her as one who'd just confessed to having leprosy.
As it was, Brightfin did not know what to feel then. It wasn't his reaction that pained her, it was the unspoken words that lingered with his stare.
"When were you going to tell me?" he muttered, slightly barking.
It was strange for her to see him in that state, she'd only ever known him to smile so sheenly and laugh so wildly.
"Why, uhm, are you angry?" she said.
"I asked you a question, Fina," Thomas did not seem like he cared for anything other than the talk of the moment, "did you agree to help her leave because you think she would be out of the way then?— out of your way?"
