Ten bizarrely designed puppets, each clad in white robes.
As soon as they were summoned, Chiyo took control and immediately discarded their metallic weapons.
Monzaemon, the first puppeteer and the Puppet Master Founder used different techniques for puppet making than today. Even if metals were used, they were minimal and supplemented by other high-strength materials.
Discarding the metal weapons severely reduced the puppets' offensive capabilities, but Chiyo had no other choice. The horrific scenes of her fellow puppeteers being slaughtered by their own puppets were still fresh in her mind, some still writhing in agony in pools of blood.
Carefully maintaining her distance, Chiyo controlled the white puppets, producing creaking noises as they surrounded Satoru.
Sure enough, as they approached, the puppets encountered strong resistance, as if they had developed a will of their own. However, under Chiyo's substantial chakra control, this resistance was subdued.
"That was close!"
Chiyo wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, breathing a sigh of relief. As the world's most renowned puppeteer, her ability to control puppets and her chakra reserves were far superior to ordinary puppeteers. Coupled with the special puppets created by the Puppet Master Founder, she could suppress Satoru's counter-control, avoiding the fate of being hacked to death by her own puppets.
Satoru frowned slightly.
He could sense the small metal parts within these puppets, but gaining control over them with just these few pieces was too difficult.
However...
A slight smile crept onto his face.
His ability wasn't as simple as it appeared.
The puppets he fully controlled began to assault the white puppets surrounding him, but the quality difference was insurmountable. Within moments, the white puppets tore through them, scattering parts everywhere.
"Should we go help him?"
A worried Konoha ninja glanced at Uchiha Rin, uncertain.
"No, I believe in Satoru's abilities. It's definitely not that simple."
Despite her confident words, the tight grip of her hands betrayed her tension. After all, their opponent was Chiyo, a legendary figure from the Second Shinobi World War, more renowned than the newly appointed Fourth Kazekage, Rasa.
With her Sharingan activated, Uchiha Rin kept a close watch on every change in the battlefield. She was ready to rush in at the slightest sign of Satoru struggling.
Back on Satoru's side, it was a puppet brawl. Fearing Satoru's magnetic abilities, Chiyo's white puppets were unarmed and had to engage in hand-to-hand combat, relying on their superior quality to maintain an edge.
After a chaotic battle, the once pristine white robes were tattered, exposing much of their puppet bodies. If they were human, the scene would be quite revealing.
No one noticed the black liquid slowly moving from Satoru's controlled puppets to the white puppets, creeping through the gaps and infiltrating their insides.
Chiyo, seeing her white puppets gaining the upper hand, allowed herself a cold smile.
"It seems you aren't as formidable as they say. For the future of the Sand Village, I must eliminate you."
But then she froze.
The resistance against controlling the white puppets suddenly increased exponentially. Each movement became sluggish as if the joints were filled with mercury.
"What... what is happening?"
Chiyo's face twisted in horror.
Satoru's smile widened.
In the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, young Magneto uses train tracks to infiltrate the Sentinel robots and gain control over them. He then leads his Sentinel army, dramatically entering the scene.
Satoru's nanomagnetic fluid was far superior to iron tracks. The particles he controlled ranged from 1 to 10 nanometers, displaying superparamagnetism. Once inside the white puppets attached to their mechanical joints, his control far surpassed Chiyo's.
This was why Chiyo lost control of the puppets. Against nanomagnetic particles, her control was insufficient.
The situation reversed.
The white puppets, now under Satoru's control, surrounded Chiyo.
Chiyo was stunned, as were the watching Konoha and Sand ninjas.
What happened?
Satoru wasn't supposed to control the white puppets. How did this happen so quickly?
The ten dishevelled puppets surrounded the frail Chiyo.
Uchiha Rin sighed in relief, her clenched hands relaxing, revealing sweaty palms.
"Close call. Satoru was indeed holding back a trump card."
She watched the battlefield curiously.
"What's next? How will Satoru deal with her?"
When she saw the puppets' actions, she was stunned.
Mouth agape, she was shocked.
Was it a moral decline or a twisted nature?
The puppets, in dishevelled attire, surrounded the elderly Chiyo and... started dancing to Gokuraku Jodo!
The white puppets moved their bodies rhythmically, shaking their right legs towards Chiyo in sync.
Chiyo was mortified.
In all her years, she had never seen such a scene. Humiliation and shame overwhelmed her, making her want to end her life.
"This isn't right..."
Satoru rubbed his chin, frowning.
Dancing without the familiar BGM didn't feel right.
An idea struck him.
Speakers convert electrical signals into sound via electromagnets, which he could simulate.
He controlled the magnetic fluid within the puppets to vibrate rhythmically, transforming his memory of the melody into sound waves, which the puppets released through their mouths.
Soon, a lively tune filled the battlefield.
True, self-produced BGM!
Though it deviated from his memory, it finally felt right.
Satoru smiled.
"Chiyo, why not join in? It's a special gift for you!"
As he spoke, the white puppets stiffened, grabbing Chiyo and positioning her like a puppet.
Chiyo, able to control only her head, looked up in shame, a tear rolling down her cheek.
She lamented.
"This is... shameful!"
