Chương 38: Chp-38: You Don't Deserve to Use That Sword

"Look, the Hyuga ninja is going to fight Kakashi."

"Another good show? First, the Uchiha, now the Hyuga. Is Kakashi planning to challenge all the prestigious clans today?"

The fight between Kakashi and Uchiha Rin attracted many ninjas. More and more gathered around the mission assignment centre, eagerly discussing the unfolding drama.

Unlike the other ninjas who were there to watch the spectacle, the surrounding Hyuga ninjas were growing increasingly worried.

"Can Hyuga Satoru really beat Kakashi?"

"He's the first Hyuga with a dual bloodline limit. He should be fine, right?"

Their voices lacked confidence, barely audible in the noisy discussions.

Kakashi's reputation was formidable: a genin at five, a chuunin at six, the youngest chuunin in Konoha's history, the son of the White Fang. Any one of these titles would overshadow Satoru.

Satoru's only comparable trait was his dual bloodline limit.

If he lost to Kakashi, it would be a significant blow to the Hyuga clan's reputation.

"Can Satoru really handle Kakashi?" Guy was also worried.

Kakashi had always been the rival he chased after during their academy days. The changes over the past two years had made Kakashi almost unrecognizable to him.

"He can!" Anko said with unwavering confidence.

"How can you be so sure?" Guy asked, looking at her. Despite his flaws, Kakashi was undeniably one of the top in their generation.

"He just can. Satoru won't lose, not even to Kakashi." Anko shouted, drawing the attention of many around them.

In his current state, Satoru knew his physical capabilities were limited. He had to avoid direct taijutsu combat and quickly devised a strategy that relied on his remaining strengths.

Kakashi gripped the White Fang short sword, the blade glowing faintly with chakra.

"I advise you not to use that sword," Satoru said, raising an eyebrow.

"Why?" Kakashi frowned.

"You'll understand soon enough."

Kakashi lunged forward, the short sword a blur as it slashed at Satoru. Satoru didn't move, not even to dodge.

The sword seemed to be nudged by an invisible hand, altering its trajectory to miss Satoru entirely.

Kakashi frowned and swung again.

Satoru shook his head, shifting slightly to the side. The sword missed again.

Slash, miss.

Miss, slash, miss again...

Kakashi seemed to turn into a master of avoiding his target, wildly swinging at the air around Satoru, creating a strangely comical scene.

"Are you trying to slash the air around me to make me suffocate?" Satoru shrugged, looking exasperated.

Rin couldn't help but laugh at Satoru's taunt. He was being mischievous and downright mean.

Kakashi took a deep breath, the seriousness in his eyes deepening.

"Magnet Release, huh? I didn't expect it to interfere so much with my swordsmanship."

He knew Satoru's Magnet Release could disrupt shuriken. However, compared to a shuriken, a sword wielded by a person should have been much more challenging to interfere with, especially with the precision and ferocity of the Hatake swordsmanship.

Yet, it seemed he had underestimated Satoru's Magnet Release.

Silently, Kakashi sheathed the White Fang's short sword and charged at Satoru with his fists.

Satoru raised an arm to block Kakashi's attack. When one punch failed, Kakashi spun and delivered a roundhouse kick. Satoru sidestepped, narrowly avoiding it.

His arm stung slightly, causing him to grimace. His body hadn't fully recovered, and every taijutsu move exacerbated the pain.

Satoru pushed his electromagnetic senses to the limit, dodging Kakashi's attacks before they could land. He only defended when he had no other choice, but this necessity appeared to the onlookers as something else entirely.

"He's... He's too strong. Kakashi's attacks can't touch him."

"Dodging so effortlessly, without a single counterattack. Is he taunting Kakashi?"

The onlookers' discussions shifted from doubting Satoru to being impressed by him.

Kakashi's relentless taijutsu onslaught was putting immense pressure on Satoru. Taking advantage of an opening, Satoru sidestepped slightly and transformed his fist into a palm, striking Kakashi's chest.

Bam!

With a muffled sound, lightning erupted from the point of impact, sending Kakashi flying. He crashed into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Is that... Gentle Fist?"

The Hyuga members watching were stunned.

"It looks like the Gentle Fist stance, but the attack is completely different."

"I've heard Iroh mention it before. I think it's called Magnet Burst Fist. The principles... uh, they seem quite complex."

"That Satoru... he never really learned our clan's techniques properly..."

Kakashi struggled to his feet, lightning still crackling around his chest, causing his body to twitch.

"Can't engage directly." He silently devised a new strategy.

He reached for his ninja tool pouch, pulled out two small balls, and threw them to the ground. Thick smoke enveloped both him and Satoru.

"Smoke won't help you," Satoru muttered.

In the Hokage's office...

The crystal ball displayed the scene of Satoru's Magnet Burst Fist sending Kakashi flying.

"A combination of Magnet Release and Gentle Fist? Satoru's proficiency in blending his dual bloodline abilities is impressive," Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded in admiration.

The mission assignment centre was a crucial location in Konoha. From the moment Rin and Kakashi began fighting, an ANBU had reported it to him. Satoru's arrival piqued his interest further.

The crystal ball's view shifted, showing Kakashi throwing the smoke bombs, the thick smoke shrouding the combatants.

"Who will win this battle between the new generation's strongest?"

Sarutobi's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

Amidst the smoke, Satoru remained alert, sensing his surroundings.

Suddenly, there was a disturbance behind him. Satoru spun around and struck the approaching figure.

Poof!

The figure turned into white smoke.

"Shadow Clone? It seems you've finally lost patience."

At the moment he dispersed the clone, the ground behind him shattered, and a figure sprang up, right hand enveloped in lightning, emitting a sharp, piercing sound.

"Chidori."

At this distance, he couldn't miss!

Kakashi felt a surge of joy.

Just as he was about to strike, Satoru seemed to anticipate it, twisting his body in an impossible way to dodge the Chidori.

Grabbing Kakashi's wrist, Satoru added a slight push, causing Kakashi to crash face-first into the ground, the Chidori boring a hole into the earth.

At this moment, the smoke cleared, revealing the scene to everyone.

"What... what happened?"

"Is it over already?"

Kakashi lay on the ground, looking in disbelief at his unexpected defeat, his right hand buried in the dirt.

Behind him, Satoru stood with a detached expression.

"Do you understand now why I told you not to use that sword earlier?"

"Because it's White Fang's sword. You're not worthy of wielding it."
