Chương 19: Chapter 19: Fighting for the Homeland

Schmidt’s men piled out of the transport. An old farm truck was stuck in the mud, which meant that Schmidt’s prey was likely in the woods somewhere nearby.

Just after he’d had a chance to inspect the two dead Gestapo agents and deduced that there may be a werewolf involved in this spy business, Schmidt had ordered four of the local division’s best men to go to the nearest fishing village and find several heavy fishing nets.

They had come back with what they assured him were the best nets available. He instructed that the nets be rolled tightly so that they could be carried, and for those four men to go with him everywhere he went until otherwise ordered.

Now those four men stood before him, the heavy nets over their shoulders. Two dozen other men were alongside them. All were awaiting orders.

“When I give you the go-ahead, I want you men to fan out. Make every attempt to take each one of these people alive. Yes, I said, alive.”
