In the morning, everyone was busy. All the women started the chores, cleaning the whole church, washing clothes and babysitting the kids. Meanwhile, Von and Daniel readying themselves.
Both men are about to leave then suddenly Elly stopped them.
"Hey Von."
"Oh hey? Good morning Elly. What's up?"
"Uhhhm.. I.. I prepared.. a lunch for you. The wheatland was quite far from here. I heard you guys will spent a week or maybe months there?"
She gave a lunchbox while she lowered her head. It noticeable that foods are arranged neatly.
"Oh thanks! I am not quite sure.. I'll make sure to visit you here when I'm off." Von lips curled up.
"Hey! Hey how about me? I will going out there too?" It was Daniel who was standing like a stone.

It was early in the morning. After passing through the residential district and entered a commercial district where the red brick buildings structure. Several wagons full of rocks that were going to use for construction are lined up.
While both men were avoiding the wagons, They saw a lot of men and women who were fully equipped gathered in front of the eastern gate. Their place is near the headquarters of Valhalla guild. Members searching for a party with each other, before heading to go to dungeon subjugation.
They could see their fellow draft mates that were already equipped with armors and weapons. Spending a week in the lecture room made them equipped with knowledge about this world. Currently, they are now out for tutorials.
Von and Daniel couldn't help but compare themselves who were wearing worn-out clothes with several patches. But there is no use in worrying about their appearance now.
After traveling for quite some time.
Von showed up at the village gate. He had his supply of food in a small cloth bag, his hoe and sickle strapped around his back.
Von thought he arrived too early but the other tenant farmers were already present.
The village he arrived at was normal.
Protected from outside harm by a simple, but a strong fence was a bunch of houses made from logs.
The fields were located outside the fence, but that couldn't be helped.
It was the minimum amount of defense possible, and couldn't protect the villagers from the dangers from outside.
Living in such as village required understanding that danger was always near, and it was way harder living in it than living inside a city.
It was summer, and the scorching sun glared in the sky. It was a time for all kinds of things to grow.
The tenant farmers generally didn't have any farmland and relied on farming on rented farmland to make a living. At the beginning of autumn, at least half of the grain produced in the fields should be handed to the Landlord's family.
If they had a harsher landlord, who charged them sixty percent or more for rent, and they had an average harvest, the tenant farmers might not even have enough to fill their stomachs. However, these tenant farmers, who had no other skills except farming, had no other choice but to rent land.
In this wheat-land of the Ling Family, the tenants including Von were waiting for the arrival of the new owner with an uneasy mood.
The Ling Family were considered kind landlord, who only took fifty percent rent. They were worried about what kind of person the new owner was. Would the rent increase? Would they not rent the land to them? There were more than a dozen families in the place who relied on these fields to make a living.
The horse carriage soon arrived at the wheat-land. The tenant farmers, who had long received the news, had already been waiting for them. In the past, the Ling Family usually came late in the morning. The tenant farmers weren't familiar with their new master's habits, so they wanted to leave a good impression on them by coming earlier.
Originally, they had thought that they would have to wait for a long time, but they hadn't expected that the horse carriage had already arrived at the wheat-land at seven in the morning. The tenant farmers looked at one another and were glad to have come early.
The horse carriage stopped and a burly man jumped down from the carriage, he carried a wooden shield and a short axe. Tenant farmers quickly stood up and greeted him.
"I'm sorry the landlord is not personally here to greet you. This is to inform you, conditions are still the same, fifty percent rent. Sounds good right? My name is Terrance Mann. From today, I will be responsible for your daily protection and monitoring."
Terrance stood in front of the tenant farmers. He had never spoken under the anticipating gazes of so many people.
Hearing that everything would be the same as before, the tenant farmers were apparently relieved, and there was a glow of joy within everyone's eyes.
Von casually pulled a straw of grass from the ground, put it in his mouth.
Taking his place as a reference point, there was a large mountain to the east, rising high into the clouds. To the west, is an endless forest while in the middle of it is a huge river but he had seen no fishing boats pass by.
Looking at the distance in the north Von could see a dark forest composed of large trees. It seems it was covered by a dark aura. Von rubbed his eyes and double-checked it. Yes, it is covered by darkness. The trees seemed to have lasted for hundreds of years.
It was called Forest of Gluttony. No one had approached the forest ever since. People were scared because there are so many stories about how you'll die if you go into the Forest of Gluttony, but no case that actual monster had appeared.
