Iris hesitated, her gaze fixed on Persie. Doubt gnawed at her, uncertain if she should reveal everything she knew about Cole's recent actions.

Persie's head shook vehemently, tears cascading down his face. "You don't understand," he choked out, his voice quivering with a mixture of pain and frustration. "I have feelings for Demetrius. I shouldn't be feeling anything for Cole, let alone be hurt by him spending the night with Astra."
