"Congratulations. You are expecting a child," the doctor confirmed. He let the news sink in for the young couple as he looked into his bag for medicine that would help her during this time. 

Annalise stared at the doctor. She knew that this announcement was coming and what the answer would be to the question they asked, but it still felt like cold water had been thrown at her. It was now confirmed that they were going to be having a child. That inside of her there was life growing. 

Seeing that Annalise had turned mute, Rafael decided to be the one to ask the questions they needed to ask. "How far along is she?" He asked, placing his hand on Annalise's shoulder. He wanted to pick her up but she was seated on the chair so he had to settle for this.
