Chương 58: Unexperienced Parents
Valen stopped in the middle of her sentence, wondering what she is going to say about the names her husband suggested to him.
'Arthur sounded a lot likes the name of the king I read at the fantasy book and tulip is simply just a beautiful flower, I think those names is the best choice we have!' She excitedly looked at Arden, waiting patiently and curiously for the answer.
"Those names were amazing, we could name them that!" She stated excitedly while making a smile at her face.
"It is!" Arden approached the place the babies were sleeping quietly, both of them just watched the babies happily like watching an interesting show.
They were watching the babies and a few minutes later, Arden could feel something beside him is touching him. He looked at what is touching him, at it's his wife elbow, calling for him.
She stopped after hitting Arden softly with her elbow and then asked a question both of them didn't really know the answer is, "Hey, what do you think they would grow up to?".
Arden looked at his wife's face and Valen turned his face around, both of their faces in front of one another and just staring to each other eye. Valen suddenly blushes, her face is gradually turning red and the only thing that crosses her mind is just to turn her head away, back to the direction of the babies.
Arden slowly put his hand behind her neck and softly push it to face him. Both of them stared at each other and then Arden slowly moves his head closer to Valen and their lips met each other.
Both of them enjoyed the moment wholeheartedly and continue for a minute. Their babies laughed and smiled, their hands clapped and soon, both of their attention is back at the babies.
Then Arthur started crying and soon, Tulip followed. Both of them turned their head to each other and didn't know what is happening at the moment.
Arden examined it for a few seconds and looked around at the babies, as well as the cloths that were covering them. He lifted Arthur carefully and he could feel his hand getting a little wet.
He lowered his head and looked below the babies. There he could see a brown stain at the cloths. His hand was at that location the whole time and almost immediately, he dropped Arthur back to the basket.
Fortunately, he still remembered that it's his child, and he slowed down the descent ratio. Arthur is crying loudly now, after dropping from a higher place to a place almost instantly.
Valen looked at Arden in horror, afraid something will happen to their precious son. The only thing he thought of is to yell and soon she yelled, "What are you doing? What if anything happens to Arthur?".
Arden continues placing Arthur carefully and turned to his wife, now yelling at him and some tears began coming out of her eyes, "Um, what will we do now? I found some brown stain at the cloths".
Valen stopped yelling and cleaned out her tears that came out from her eyes. She carefully lifted tulip out of the basket and experience the same thing, same brown mark.
Both of them started panicking and walked around the room while searching for a solution. Valen suddenly told Arden that she had a book, a guide for a new couple and their children.
Arden searched for that book and began flipping the pages, pages by pages. And yet they found none of the guides was actually useful for the situation they are currently facing.
Arden bitted his nail and think what to do, then a thought came to his mind 'If we were to call the maids, we would be very embarrassed!' he stopped doing anything and didn't move at all, just sitting at bed and thinking about the solution.
"Let's try cleaning it ourself, we have the cloths and just need to clean them at the bathroom" Valen looked at him and nodded. Both of them began lifting the twin and carefully brought them to the bathroom.
The bathroom was furnished by some small-sized wooden buckets and in the middle of it were a bath that has the shape of a large size wooden bucket.
Beside the bath was a bucket full of clean water. It was always full, for some reason both of them didn't even know.
Both of them approached that full bucket of clean water and doing as best as they could to clean the babies. Even getting some of the feces at the hand and weirdly… face.
They struggled to clean the baby and still trying to do it. Behind them were someone, coming closer and closer to the place.
"Sir, Ma'am what are you doing?" Arden turned his head to that person and realized it was Cassandra.
He nervously hid the sight of 2 babies being cleaned and it didn't go so well. Cassandra caught a glance at the babies and quickly helped them on cleaning them.
Cassandra was suddenly so friendly to Valen and even taught her how to do it the right way. At that point, Arden didn't know what to do and just left the room.
Not even a minute after he left the bathroom, his wife and the maid with the twin at their hands came out of the bathroom and covered the babies with cloths. The twin was placed at the basket which is now their comfortable little bed and quickly fell asleep.
Valen and Cassandra just watched the baby and talked to each other. Most of the content of the talk was Cassandra teaching Valen how to take care of the babies which Valen listened intentionally.
Arden, feeling not needed at that place anymore, left the room and went down to have his breakfast at the eating room.
He set his destination to the place and walked at the hallway. There he could see some wooden door, hiding the room inside them, an empty room that could become a bedroom in the future.
He saw some mirrors on the way and a beautiful painting, the painting of a man, with brown hair and blue eyes, wearing an armour and with his helmet at the other hand and his sword at the other. Arden looked at it and still didn't know who the painter is. A mysterious person at the castle has the ability to paint the kind of painting he saw now.
He kept examining the painting and saw the word "Bob" a very small one at the corner of the painting. Barely unnoticeable, hiding within the shadow with its black colour.
He raised one of his eyebrows while thinking why Bob painted a man that looked like a knight. Then realization struck him, the person at the painting was himself, the armour, face, hair, eyes all pretty much the same with him.
He wanted to examine the painting more but couldn't waste more of his time at the painting rather than at his office and thought about the solution to the problem he is having at his land.
He continued on his way to the eating room and now is at the lobby. There he could see Bob, once more in front of the eating room, waiting for someone to use the room.
Once he saw his lord, he quickly opened the door and let his lord enter the place while not saying any words. Arden just looked at him and smiled and continued on his way.
Then, he stopped in the middle of his way of entering the room, "Can you call Rose for me?"
Arden went inside and take a seat, with all the utensils now already at the table, waiting to be used by him. Meanwhile, Bob went to get Rose and have some difficulties finding her.
Bob didn't return once Arden sat for 15 minutes at the eating room and he was so hungry because of what happened at the night and then… the door to the room he is currently in right now is being opened by someone.
He turned his head and hoping Bob would return to him with plates of food at his hand and it turned out to be Hans, still with the same content on his hand he was hoping for.
"Good morning Hans!" He greeted Hans as Hans started placing the plates of food in front of his eyes. It was not steak this time, but a grilled chicken which he still likes but not his favourite.
"Good morning my lord, is there anything you want at the next meal?" Hans asked with a smile at his face as he straightens himself after putting the plates of food at the table.
"Yes, I want sal…" Suddenly, the door was opened and Bob entered the room, with Rose behind him, shrinking to the floor, embarrassed, anxious and didn't know what to do.
Arden stared at both of them as they enter the room, with what himself call "friendly stare" but like "predator stare" for the one that wronged him…
