Despite their best efforts, the firefighters were unable to locate Olivia or Megan. They searched the area thoroughly before moving on to another location, where they discovered six more individuals, including one female and five males. Despite this, the search for Olivia and Megan continued.
"Okay, let's try ringing one of them again and see if we can find them," A firefighter told mrs and mr barrow and mr and mrs Denver.
Mrs. Meadows then rang Olivia's phone and a faint sound was heard nearby so they started searching for Olivia Near where they heard the noise.
After moving some rocks, the firefighters finally discovered someone. The paramedics quickly came to the scene and transported the person to a nearby ambulance. It turned out to be Olivia, who grey shirt was stained with blood and her brown hair was coated with dirt and rubble, Her right leg was bent at an unnatural angle, her parents rushed over to the ambulance to be with her.
Upon arrival at the ambulance, the paramedics quickly assessed Olivia's condition. They found that she was unconscious and that her breathing was slow, so they put an oxygen mask on her to try and help her. They also checked her heartbeat to ensure that she was stable. One of the paramedics then informed Mr and mrs meadows that Olivia's leg was broken, but luckily it didn't appear to require surgery. However, due to limited space in the ambulance, only one of them could accompany Olivia to the hospital.
"You go, I'll drive," Mr. Meadows said to his wife.
Mrs. Meadow quickly strapped herself into the seat and held Olivia's hand while the paramedic shut the doors, and they drove off.
"Please let us know if you find Megan and if she's alright," Mr. Meadows asked.
"We will," Mrs. Denver told him.
Mr. Meadow then got in his car and made his way to the hospital.
When the ambulance got to the hospital, they quickly opened the doors and got Olivia into the hospital.
"An 18-year-old female who has been involved in a cave accident has a badly broken leg she has no sign of brain injury or internal bleeding," a paramedic notified the team of nurses that have come to meet them at the entrance.
A group of nurses quickly took Olivia into a room, where mrs meadows followed. They checked her for internal bleeding, which lucky there was none.
"The good news is it doesn't need surgery, The bad news is she will be on crutches for six to eight weeks, and then she'll have to take it easy for another four weeks after that, but if it all goes okay, then it should be fine after that. She got very lucky we have to start her on some pain medication to help with the pain in her leg, so she will be quite sleepy for the next few days, but that will be normal, so you don't need to worry too much about that" A nurse told Mrs Meadows.
Mr Meadows then arrived and sat in the chair next to his wife.
"Are you family, I'm sorry to ask, but only family is allowed in these rooms?" A nurse asked.
"Yes, I'm her father," Mr Meadows answered.
"Okay, I was just telling her mother, she is very lucky. She appears to have no brain injury and no internal bleeding. She has a broken leg, but it doesn't require surgery and should heal fine if she follows what we tell her" The nurse told mr meadows.
"Okay, thank you," Mr Meadows said.
"Someone will be in here shortly to put a temporary cast on her and to give her some more pain medication. As I was telling her mother, She'll be a bit sleepy for a few days, but that's to be expected with the pain medication" The nurse told Mr Meadow.
The nurse then left the room to get another doctor. Mr Meadows could tell Mrs Meadow was worried about Olivia.
"You heard the nurse, she's okay," mr meadows told his wife.
"I know I just can't stop worrying about her and the others. What if one of the others doesn't make it". Mrs Meadows said.
"I'm sure the girls are going to be fine, their parents said they would let us know when They know anything". Mr Meadows told his wife.
A doctor then came in.
"I'm just going to put a temporary cast on her leg for the next few days. Before she leaves, I will put a proper cast on to last the six to eight weeks," The doctor explained to them.
"Okay, thank you," Mrs. Meadows said.
The doctor then proceeded to put a temporary cast on Olivia's broken leg. Shortly after, Olivia regained consciousness.
"Olivia, can you hear me?" Mrs Meadow asked.
"Yes," Olivia said quietly.
"How are you feeling?" Mrs Meadow asked.
"I'm fine" Olivia said then looked down at her leg.
"It's broken, isn't it,?" Olivia asked.
"Yes, but the doctors did say it will heal fine. It's going to take a little while, but it will be fine, you're ok apart from that" Mrs Meadow tells her.
"What about the others, are they okay?" Olivia asked.
"I don't know I'm sorry, but their parents did say that they will let us know when there's any updates, but I haven't heard anything yet" Mrs Meadow told Olivia.
"I know I shouldn't have gone in there Mum, but Hannah and Sarah went in there and I wanted to make sure they were okay and didn't get in to any trouble. Megan and I told them we should leave and that it would be the safest thing to do . And then I heard a crashing sound, but I thought it would be better not to leave them on their own in there, so I stayed to try to get them to leave" Olivia told her mother.
"It's okay don't worry about it, we will talk about it another time all that matters is that you're okay and making sure it stays that way I promise as soon as I know anything about the girls, I'll let you know I should hear something soon," Mrs Meadows told Olivia.
"They have found everyone, haven't they,?" Olivia asked.
Mrs meadows looked at her mr meadows.
"You should tell her the truth," Mr Meadows told her.
"They still hadn't found Megan when we left with you," Mrs. Meadows told Olivia.
"Why not she was right next to me, she wasn't that far from me, I heard her," Olivia said starting to get upset.
"That's good news, that means They have probably found her by now, they found Sarah then Hannah then you. They both seemed okay when they got in the ambulance so hopefully they are". Mrs Meadow explained to Olivia.
Olivia shortly falls back to sleep.
"The Doctors said this is normal due to how much pain medication she is on," Mr Meadow told his wife. Putting his arm around her.
"I know, but I'm still worried," Mrs Meadow told mr meadows.
A few minutes later, Mrs Meadow's phone started ringing.
"Who is it? Is it one of the girl's parents?" Mr Meadow asked.
"Yes, it's Deidre, she must be updating us on Sarah. I'll go speak to her outside, just in case, it's bad news. I don't want to risk Olivia waking up and hearing it from the phone. If it's bad, it's better coming from me or you" Mrs Meadows explained.
"It's Okay, I'll stay, don't worry," Mr Meadow told his wife.
Mrs Meadows then went outside to speak to Miss Barrow.
