The two seconds had passed, and Mary attacked Malcom this time with her bare hands. As she was going towards him, there was another resounding clap, which was heard loudly. 

Mary smirked as she thought he would be paralyzed. 

Malcom stared at her with narrowed eyes, and turning his dagger into a sword, took it with two hands and activated his skill, the rune cut. 

He did this at the same time Mary appeared on his side. Mary jumped away instantly, but it was too late. When she landed on the other side, Mary already had an open gash on her side. 

The girl was bleeding hard, to the point that her knees weakened, and she fell to the ground. 

She looked at herself with disbelief. Mary said with trembling lips, "How is it possible? You're supposed to be paralyzed!"

Malcom did not respond. His eyes were dark and filled with uncontrollable anger.
