Chương 10: Registration For The Grand Shōtotsu
(Inside the Hospital)
Mizūmi: "Ryūsei..." Mizūmi mutters as she sits besides Ryūsei. After a while she heard a sound. "W.....h...." Ryūsei then slowly wakes up.
Ryūsei: "Where.....am.....I?????" Ryūsei asked as rubs his eyes. "Ryūsei!!!!!!!" Mizūmi happily yelled as she was glad Ryūsei was now awake.
Ryūsei: "Mizūmi???....It's that you???..." Ryūsei muttered as he slowly got up.
Mizūmi: "Yes, it's me." Mizūmi happily replied. "I'm glad you're safe....." Ryūsei replied, smiling at her. "It was all thanks to you," Mizūmi happily replied. Ryūsei began looking at the room around him.
Ryūsei: "Where's Mr. Nendo??" Ryūsei curiously asked.
Mizūmi: "He was summoned by an Elemental Knight, Right now they're talking about something outside." She replied, pointing her fingers to the door.
Elemental Knights are high rank Elementalist that are A-Rank to S-Rank. They're a division within the sage council acting as the King's personal military unit. Even though their ranking is low on the Sage Council, they are still considered elites in the Kingdom of Ryūgū.
Ryūsei: "It's good to know that he's okay..." Ryūsei proclaimed, slowly getting up but his body then starts to feel pain due to the fact that his body is still injured from the fight.
Mizūmi: "Woah!!! Be careful Ryūsei!!!! Your injuries haven't fully recovered." She proclaimed, trying to help him to get up. "I'm sorry" Ryūsei proclaimed, now sitting in the hospital bed.
Ryūsei: "That's the last time I'm gonna use Collision Slash....." Ryūsei embarrassedly proclaimed while rubbing his head.
Mizūmi: "Collision Slash??" Mizūmi concernedly asked and Ryūsei nodded in response.
Ryūsei: "It's one of my spells, It's the final spell I used against Moyasu. Unfortunately I never used the spell before so it ended up causing severe stress to my body" He replied before he was interrupted. "Just how strong is that spell??!!" She surprisingly asked. "To tell you the truth I don't even know as well." Ryūsei cluelessly replied.
The door then opens and Nendo enters the room. "Dad!!!!" Mizūmi yelled and she then hugged her father. "Hello sweetie, I'm sorry it took so long." He happily replies and then looks at Ryūsei with a shocked expression.
Ryūsei: "Hello Mr. Nendo" Ryūsei happily greeted him. "Ryūsei, I'm glad you're awake." Nendo happily replied. "I'm sorry for making you all worry..." Ryūsei proclaimed, bowing his head at Nendo.
Nendo then tells Ryūsei to lift up his head. "It's alright, Actually I'd like to thank you for saving my daughter.... If you hadn't come along, I'd never get to see my daughter again." Nendo happily proclaimed, bowing his head down at Ryūsei.
Mizūmi: "Dad, If it's alright for me to ask. But what's the reason you were called by the Elemental Knights???" Mizūmi curiously asked, interrupting the two Elementalist. Nendo then nods and looks at her daughter.
Nendo: "A Grand Shōtotsu will take place 2 weeks from now at the Kingdom of Ryūgū." He replied.
Mizūmi: "A Grand Shōtotsu? Seriously?!! Isn't it a little too early though?!" Mizūmi curiously asked once again. But she was extremely excited hearing the big news.
Nendo: "Because of the sudden rise of Demons, The Kingdom of Ryūgū are in search of Elementalists capable of protecting the Kingdom without ''him" .'' Nendo replied, emphasizing the "him".
Mizūmi: "Can't the Gādians just protect the Kingdom??" Mizūmi asked.
Nendo:;"Well they can, But like us they also get tired" Nendo happily replied. "Besides, ever since the Fallen God attack a couple of years ago, The numbers of the Gādians have decreased" Nendo added as the look on his face became more serious.
Mizūmi: "What do you mean decreased??" Mizūmi worriedly asked. "For example Moyasu, He was the former Leo Gādian but due to him going rogue the position of Leo has been open for years" Nendo replied.
Nendo: "With the Grand Shōtotsu, The Kingdom will have an easy time looking for suitable Elementalist taking in the open positions of the Gādians. Nendo proclaimed.
The 12 Gādians are the Kingdom's protectors and also serve as the higher-ups in the Elemental World. They're Elementalist that were given the title based upon the 12 Zodiac signs. They're mostly composed of S-Rank Elementalist.
Nendo: "Well if you two worked hard, I'm sure you'll eventually earn yourself the position of a Gādian" Nendo happily proclaimed, trying to give some encouragement.
Mizūmi: "Are you going to participate in the Grand Shōtotsu Ryūsei????" Mizūmi then turns around and asks Ryūsei.
Ryūsei: "I haven't thought about it yet, I mean the Grand Shōtotsu is a Chīma vs Chīma showdown." Ryūsei sadly replied before stopping and looking down.
Mizūmi: "Don't tell me you're a....." Mizūmi worriedly asked as she covered her mouth with her left hand. "I'm a special case, So I don't have a Chīma." Ryūsei replied with a smile on her face while he was trying to hide his sadness.
Mizūmi: "But you're already this powerful, I mean you defeated a former Gādian." She happily proclaimed, trying to cheer up Ryūsei. "I barely defeated him, If he didn't go rogue, who knows how powerful he could've been." Ryūsei replied.
Mizūmi: "So are you gonna participate?? Ryūsei??" Mizūmi happily asked once again. "I guess I might participate" Ryūsei replied but he was still unsure if he'll participate.
Nendo: "Well then, I wish you the best of luck Ryūsei. Registration for the Grand Shōtotsu shall take place a week from now at the Chīma Center." Nendo happily proclaimed.
Ryūsei: "Thank you Mr. Nendo.... for everything." Ryūsei happily replied. "Oh, I almost forgot!!!!" Nendo proclaimed, getting his bag near the table and he then grabs something from the bag
Nendo: "As a token of my appreciation, I got you something." Nendo then gives Ryūsei a badge. "Wait, isn't this the-" Ryūsei asked as he was shocked at how Nendo had it. "It's the light blue gem that you dropped a couple of days ago"
he happily replied. "I had a blacksmith customize and craft a badge using the light blue gem as a material," he added. The Storm Stone that Ryūsei had gotten was perfectly crafted into a badge, it design was that the light blue gem with a dark blue dragon crest wrapped around in a silver vine themed pin
Ryūsei: "Nendo, Thank you so much" Ryūsei happily proclaimed, he kept on smiling showing how he appreciated the gift. "Hey Ryūsei, How about we train before the Grand Shōtotsu starts?'' Mizūmi happily asked.
Ryūsei: "Sure-" Ryūsei happily replied but he was then Interrupted by someone. "Hold it right there you two," Nendo yelled in concern. "Ryūsei isn't fully recovered yet, if he goes back to fighting in the state he is in, It will only get worse." he added, causing both to laugh in embarrassment.
A few days have passed since then and Ryūsei is now fully recovered from his injuries. He then spends his remaining time training non-stop with Mizūmi and Nendo. He stayed with Nendo and Mizūmi for a while, using the guest room as a place to sleep.
Ryūsei was surprised at how much he learned from Nendo and Mizūmi. He was even surprised at how powerful Mizūmi is exactly. He was shocked that not only was she a Dragon Sage but she also had good control on her energy.
Energy manipulation is a skill learned by an Elementalist who has perfect control with his/her energy. It lets the Elementalist manipulate the nature elements. It is commonly used with Elementalist who are Water, Wind, Earth, Shadow and Nature attributed. A common example for energy manipulation is a wind-attributed Elementalist manipulating the air around him to form cyclones. But even though it was commonly seen, it is hard to master, which makes Ryūsei ask himself… How did she even get taken hostage by Moyasu?
A few days have passed since he began training with Mizūmi and Nendo, Ryūsei had fun and he enjoyed their company but even so it was time to say goodbye. Ryūsei enjoyed his final day with Mizūmi and Nendo, in fact they had a farewell party for him which lasted till morning and it was time for Ryūsei to leave the Village Of Sapeda in order to register at the Chīma Center.
(At the Kingdom of Ryūgū)
Ryūsei: "I'm finally home" He quietly muttered. Even though he got back from his quest, he was a bit sad,he missed both Mizūmi and Nendo.
"Ryūsei!!" Ryūsei heard a familiar voice, turning around seeing both Yuki and Kayosha.
Kayosha: "Where were you? You've been missing for weeks??!!!" She yelled, scolding Ryūsei.. "I just took a quest-" He muttered, praying he won't get caught.
Kayosha: "And what rank was it??" Kayosha asks, glaring at Ryūsei. "Yuki, are you gonna participate in the Grand Shōtotsu???" Ryūsei quickly asked, trying to dodge the question. "Stop changing the subject!!" Kayosha annoyedly yelled.
Yuki: "Yeah, Me and Kayosha have been training for the past few weeks for it." Yuki replied. "Jeez there's no point scolding you, You never listen" Kayosha proclaimed as she sighed, putting her hand on her head. "Yuki, let's go and register right now." She added.
Yuki: "Yeah, Wanna join us Ryūsei??? I mean you're gonna enter the Grand Shōtotsu????" Yuki happily asked.
Ryūsei: "I am...." He replied but his face looks like something is bothering him.
Yuki: "Is everything alright Ryūsei??" Yuki worriedly asked, noticing something was bothering his younger brother. "You know you can tell me, I'll happily listen," Yuki happily added.
Ryūsei: "It's just that… I'm a special case, remember?" Ryūsei replied with a sad face. Yuki happily smile, I guess his little brother was just worried about being alone.
Yuki: "You'll find your Chīma someday." She happily said, trying to cheer up Ryūsei. "Yeah, while you two haven't met yet, You got all those enemies all to yourself." Kayosha added.
Yuki: "Cheer up, How about after we get registered for the Grand Shōtotsu let's go to that ice cream shop that Kasai was talking about?" Yuki happily proclaimed. "My treat" She happily added and Ryūsei just nodded and thanked her. Ryūsei, Yuki and Kayosha then headed off to the Chīma Center in order to register.
(At the Chīma Center)
Yuki, Ryūsei and Kayosha entered inside the Chīma Center, walking towards the front desk.
"Welcome to the Chīma Center." Yukino happily greeted them as they slowly walked towards her.
Yuki: "Hey Yukino!!" Yuki happily yelled, suddenly hugging her. "Hey Yuki!! It's been quite some time since we last saw each other." She happily proclaimed, hugging her back.
Kayosha: "Hey Yukino!!!!" Kayosha happily greeted her. "Hi Kayosha, You're as cute as ever!!!" She happily proclaims, breaking the hug with Yuki. "Thank you..." Kayosha embarrassedly replied.
Yukino: "And Hi there-...Oh my..... Ryūsei is that you??!!!" She was shocked. "Yup it's me, It's been a long time hasn't it." Ryūsei replied. "I'm glad you are back, I was really worried when I didn't see you for weeks," Yukino proclaimed. "Anyway, what brings you all here????" Yukino curiously asked.
Yuki: "We came here to register for the Grand Shōtotsu." Yuki happily replied. "Alright, Wait here a second, I'm gonna go get the application forms." Yukino replied, she then left to go get the application forms. Without Yukino leaving, they all were silent once again. Until Yuki decided to speak up.
Yuki: "So Ryūsei, Wanna have a little spar with us after we go get ice cream???" Yuki curiously asked, breaking the silence. But before Ryūsei could say anything, someone then grabs Ryūsei's shoulder.
"Did someone say ice cream!!" Ryūsei turned around, seeing his best friend Kasai. "Hey Ryūsei how have you been." He happily smiled but he then turned around seeing someone with an annoyed face.
Sora: "You were in such a hurry.... I dropped my milkshake..." Sora pouted, looking at her Chīma partner. "Sorry about that, I'll go buy you a new one later on." He happily replied, apologizing to the pouting girl. Suddenly the door opened, Shadow and Shizen entered the Chīma Center and quickly approached them. "Looks like the gang's all here." Kasai proclaimed with a smirk on his face.
Shadow:"So you guys came to participate as well??" Shadow happily asked. "We wouldn't miss it for the world." Yuki happily replied.
Shizen: "You better not go easy on her" Shizen proclaimed with a serious tone. "I plan to win this." He added with a smirk on his face.
Shadow: "Don't worry, I'm going to go all out on her." Shadow happily replied. "Why is it always me...." Yuki muttered, with a pouty face.
Shizen: "The last Shōtotsu we had, You literally froze the entire stadium." Shizen proclaimed, glaring at Yuki.
Yuki: "It was an accident....." Yuki embarrassedly muttered. "You literally tried to shoot Shadow with one of your most powerful spells and you literally froze the entire stadium in the process." Shizen replied.
Shadow: "Yeah, I could've died that time if I didn't have my ability." Shadow added. They continually teased Yuki until Yukino arrived with the application forms. They all filled out their forms and registered themselves to the Grand Shōtotsu. After a while of filling out the application forms, all of them are finally done and are now registered.
Kasai: "Let's go to a restaurant, I'm hungry." Kasai happily suggested, looking at everyone.
Yuki: "I guess, I did promise Ryūsei and Kayosha that we'd buy ice cream after the registration." Yuki replied. "It's been a while since we've eaten all together, Let's go." Shizen proclaimed, they then headed to a nearby restaurant. They ordered their food and after a while the food was served and they began to eat.
(After a while of eating)
Kasai: "Hey Ryūsei, it's been a while since I last saw you fight.... Have you managed to find your Chīma???" Kasai curiously asked, breaking the silence.
Shadow: "Is someone a little concerned about his opponents?" Shadow teased. "Well he is my best friend, I know he's strong but..... He's entering a Grand Shōtotsu all by himself." Kasai replied while continuing to eat.
Ryūsei: "Don't worry, I'll be fine on my own." Ryūsei happily proclaimed. "Well he has made progress since the last time we saw him." Shizen proclaimed, taking a bite of a burger.
Shadow: "Yeah, Have you guys heard of the white swordsman rumor?" Shadow curiously asked, shocking everyone.
Ever since the fight against the Moyasu Gang and the surrender of the former Gadiān, the sudden event surprised the Kingdom of Ryūgū. And a rumor about the one who defeated Moyasu started to occur.
An Elementalist with white hair and white swords made of light who's slashes and cuts his foes granting wounds that burn to the core. He's speed is unrivaled and he is immune to spells. If words could describe him..... it would be that he's a "Monster".... A Rankless Elementalist with extraordinary strength..."The White Swordsman".
Kayosha: "Wait, isn't it just a rumor?" Kayosha curiously asked. "Yeahz There is no way an Elementalist could become immune to spells" Yuki added.
Shadow: "Well there are the Crowned Dragons, but no one has seen one in ages" Shadow proclaimed.
Shizen: "Well there is a possibility that the rumors are true, But let's face the facts that Ryūsei was "The White Swordsman"." Shizen proclaimed, looking at his brother.
Ryūsei: "Wait, why me?" Ryūsei replied, defending himself. He was shocked, he got busted so fast.
Kasai: "Yeah, I mean he did disappear when the rumor started to occur" Kasai proclaimed, looking at Ryūsei. "But do you think Ryūsei would become immune to spells?" he added.
Yuki: "Well there's a possibility, but we'll never know until we fight him" Yuki added.
Kasai: "Ryūsei, After we eat.... let's have a spar." He shouted. "Why???" Ryūsei worriedly asked. "I just want to know how strong you've become." He happily replied.
