"I have no doubts that you're aware of what you can and cannot do, Duke Gertrude," Commander Halkias said, "It's the same in this situation. Whether the visit would endanger you or not, you will be coming with us."
The Duke hurriedly nodded and said, "No, I'm not planning on running away from this duty. It's just that I don't think my presence is necessary. Also, there are a few things that I need to attend to. For instance, there's the trial for the Hamlin Family."
"Don't fret, Duke Gertrude. That's all well and sorted out already."
With the Commander's statement, the Duke saw no way out of participating in the visit. It sure sounded as if it had been decided from the very beginning that he would be a part of the group.
Vhelian, on the other hand, was eager to go with the group. He knew that it would be out of line for him to request to be included. He began thinking of how to word his request, not wanting to sound overbearing.
