Although it was only a marriage of convenience, Amelie Ashford was the perfect wife in every aspect. She was intelligent, obedient, and well-respected. She was kind to everyone and devoted to her husband. And she was perfectly content to spend the rest of her life like that, even though she was constantly nagged about getting pregnant. That was until her husband entered their house with a mistress by his side and eventually demanded a divorce.
"Very well," Amelie said calmly, "I will divorce you."
Richard's eyes shone as he heard his wife utter these words. However, to his surprise, she was not done. "But don't be surprised when you get an invitation to my next wedding."
To everyone's shock, Amelie indeed got married again, and to a younger and, as it turned out, richer man!
And she made sure that her ex-husband realized what it meant to lose the support of a woman like her.

Strong start, I already love it! Something new from the author since she prefers to write historical fantasy, but I’m sure it will be just as captivating!
A realistic portrayal of the "rich people's married life". Not a typical Mary Sue FL who face slaps her enemies left and right, rather a mature and realistic story about how a woman who's life was predetermined from birth is slowly learns that she can be more than just a rich man's wife, finds love, and gets back what belongs to her in due time. Don't expect a fairytale-like plot; your blood pressure might spike while reading this but I think that both the character development and the green flag ML are really worth it. A big bonus is the cutesy corgi!

Solid 5⭐ from it! I love love love Chapter 1! Our FL is the classy act when dealing with her scummy husband and delusional mistress. Six chapters in, we've already gotten a glimpse of the ML and his adorable corgi 💖 All the best Yoojee!
I am once again being summoned to this platform because yoojee dropped yet another novel. The prologue chapter is fire, we have a glimpse of FL's character development and the direction of the story. The scummy husband is not getting any redemption which is amazing. Amelie deserves a separate section of the review. She has a strong personality but she is still just as vulnerable as anyone else when it comes to dealing with such a trying issue as betrayal and divorce. Although the divorce will only happen later in the novel, don't get discouraged! This story goes under the trope "the rich also cry" and will give you real characters with real emotions, thoughts and flaws, and real character development so I strongly recommend you keep on reading because yoojee never fails to deliver good stories!

Brilliantly written. I was initially discouraged about reading a slow burn book but this proved me totally wrong. The characters resonated with readers and that’s because the author didn’t rush the plot. Thank you dear author.
