The chandelier brightened the hall, making the woman standing under it in her white dress look even more beautiful.

Celine stood in front of the altar, waiting for Kieran, who had come to occupy her mind for the last few months after they discovered they were mates.

Celine's heart drummed wildly in her chest as she stared impatiently at the hall's entrance. She was supposed to be happy, giving everyone a beautiful smile but Celine couldn't smile.

Celine didn't have the right to be happy because she had thought all her life that she would escape her abusive stepmother and stepsister and marry Keiran but all her hope was shattered when she caught Keiran making out with her stepsister two days ago.

Here she is, but she couldn't even breathe well. Kieran wasn't in the hall yet, and the time was ticking.

"Did he feel remorseful about his action and decide to stop the wedding?" Celine thought in her mind, her lips not moving.

But now Celine wasn't sure and she felt uneasy. A gentle tap on her back made her turn her head to the back to look at the intruder.

It was her best friend, Romy, who turned out to be her chief bridesmaid today.

"You aren't smiling, Celine. Today is your wedding day and everyone is looking at you," Romy said in a hushed tone, her voice barely above a whisper.

Celine flashed a sweet smile at Amelia but she could swear that her smile looked fake without the need for a mirror.

Celine looked at the distinguished guest sitting in the arranged chairs in the hall. They were mumbling among themselves, and some were eager in their seats to leave the hall.

"Why isn't the Alpha here?" someone said in the hall.

"Do you think the Alpha doesn't want her to?"

"I heard this is not the first time something like this would happen. Her boyfriend once broke up with her for reasons unknown."

"But this is different, Alpha Kieran is her fated mate. Don't you know?"

"What if something had happened? Who knows if he finally realizes they aren't meant to be together?"

Celine heard everything as commotion broke in the hall. The wedding should have commenced already an hour ago but the groom refused to make an appearance.

It's been a fucking hour!

Still, Celine wanted to believe he would still come. He wouldn't disgrace her today, right?

But she wasn't sure.

A tear threatened to fall from the corner of Celine's eyes as she stared at the entrance. Her heart aches in her chest and her palms become sweaty.

Celine felt her back wet with cold sweat as nervousness began to creep inside her but she steeled herself. She couldn't bring herself to cry in front of so many people when she was supposed to be smiling today.

Celine lifted her gaze to the floor, but not until she heard the soft clicks of the shoes on the floor.

She didn't dare look up but she recognized the scent—the smell of his expensive cologne.

The weight of his strides on the floor as he walked towards her.

Gasps filled the room as the groom came in. The people stopped murmuring because there was even something more surprising.

Celine's curiosity tugged at her. She lifted her gaze to look at him, relief washing over her as Kieran walked towards her in his long strides.

His brown hair was combed back, his full pink lips were clamped together and his green eyes were even more green than the fresh spring leaf. The black suit hugged his frame perfectly.

Celine knew the ladies would be ogling at him right now, wishing they were the ones he was getting married to.

However, Celine's breath caught in her throat. Celine was too occupied, watching Kieran alone, and didn't notice there was another woman beside him.

No.

There were two brides in the hall room!

"What is happening?"

"Is this not the elder sister? Why would she wear a white dress at her sister's wedding?"

"I think there is a mix-up. Alpha Keiran came in with another bride."

"I don't know what is happening anymore. Could someone please explain to us? Who is the bride?"

Celine realized her sister, Amby, was the one standing beside Keiran. She wore a stunning white dress that looked similar to Celine's own.

The guest must have thought the two sisters were having their wedding in the same hall on the same day but there was only one groom in the hall.

The priest cleared his throat the moment Kieran stood in front of the altar, torn between choosing who the true bride was.

However, before the priest could speak into the microphone, Kieran's deep voice reverberated in the hall, making everyone focus their attention on him.

"I have a confession to make before the ceremony proceeds, which I believe will not take place because I will not be marrying Celine or taking her in as my Luna. Instead, I decided to choose Amby as my Luna," Keiran announced, and the hall fell silent. His tone turned menacing.

A commotion broke in the hall at his declaration.

Celine's deep hazel eyes stared at Kieran's green eyes as her heart skipped a beat. Though she appeared bold and strong on the outside, internally, her breath stiffened as she waited for what he was going to say but her lips moved before she could think.

"What the hell are you doing, Kieran?"' Celine screamed out in shock and anger, her eyes red as she clenched her hands against her side.

Her hands clasped together and her fragile heart beat several times as she waited to hear the painful truth.

No! This was her worst nightmare.

The priest, in shock with his mouth hung open, gave the microphone to Kieran, and everyone waited patiently for him to speak.

"I will not be taking Celine as my wife. I reject you, Celine Brown, as my mate," Keiran declared, shocking everyone in the room.

Celine's breathing was becoming irregular as she stared into Kieran's eyes, not bothering to look at her sister, who was busy glaring at her.

Celine couldn't believe this was happening right in front of her. All along, Amby and Kieran were dating and she failed to realize it. He cheated on her and she only found out a few days ago.

The pain of being rejected was a feeling she would never get used to. The bouquet she once held with care and love dropped in her hand the moment Celine heard Kieran's next words, her lips parting in denial.

"She is cursed and wouldn't be able to bear me a child and due to this, I will be calling off this union." Kieran deadpanned, shocking everyone in the hall.

"I, Alpha Keiran of the Blood Moon Pack, reject you, Celine Brown. And instead, I will be taking in Amby Brown as my mate and lawful wife."
