Chương 3: Chapter 3 - Feng Yue/The Mystery Spear
Eira, Lumi and Crystal walking out of the palace caused a commotion on the streets of Azure Dragon City.
"Isn't that little princess Eira?"
"I heard that she has the highest cultivation out of everyone under 12 years old and is not to far away from the foundation building realm."
The ignored the hustle and bustle around them and made their way to the Weapon Shop.
Inside the shop, there were weapons of all kinds on display. Bows, Swords, Throwing knives, halberds, spears, staffs, and more that I haven't seen before.
There was a guy at the front desk that noticed us walking in and her ran up to us. "So it's Princess Lumi and Princess Crystal." He then looked down and saw Eira looking at him. "And this must be the little genius Princess Eira."
Eira greets him. "Hello Uncle Manager. We are her to look at some weapons. Do you have any good spears?"
The shop manager looked at me in surprise. "A spear user... I have just what you would need. Just one thing; what is your cultivation level?"
"1st stage of Foundation Building realm." Eira replied like it was normal.
"Okay, then we will look-" He stopped and turned around with wide eyes. "FOUNDATION BUILDING!?" He looks at Crystal and Lumi for answers and the nod their heads.
The shop manager sighs in exasperation. "I was going to lead you over to the 7th grade weapons but if you buy it, with your talent, you would end up coming back for a heaven ranked weapon in a few years time. Instead of wasting your time with these weapons, I have 2 spirit artifact spears that have been here for a long time. Spirit artifacts grow with their user over time so you won't have to replace it unless it breaks. Do you want to see them?"
Crystal heard this and lost her composure. She gritted her teeth. "Spirit Artifact? You've been holding back on me old man!"
The manager looked at Crystal and wiped the sweat off of his brow. "The last time you were here, your cultivation was unstable so it would have been a waste to recommend you a spirit artifact. But I can see that Little Princess beside you has a very stable cultivation. Matter of fact, her cultivation is more stable than yours Princess Lumi. Why are you making a weird face?" He was gonna keep talking but he saw both big misses expression change.
"She only broke through today. How could it be so stable?" Crystal asked.
Everyone looked at Eira. "When I feel like I am going to breakthrough soon, I hold it back until it naturally happens. I saw in a book that doing this builds a sturdier foundation and lets my dantian hold more energy. When I breakthrough like this, there is no need to stabilize my cultivation when it is already stable. Eira said this and turned to the manager. "Is there a flexible spear among those to spirit artifacts?"
"Yes, there is one flexible spear and I would have to say that its the most valuable spear in our Weapon Pavilion. I do need to remind you that you cannot buy these spirit artifacts." The manager said.
"What do you mean?" Eira was confused.
Lumi interjected. "When someone wants a spirit artifact, they will need to prove themselves to the spirit inside of the artifact by going through a trial."
"Trial? What kind?" Eira asks.
"Mostly endurance trials." The manager picked a good time to interrupt. "Let's hurry on over and look at the artifact." After walking for a bit. We entered a less crowded place inside of the pavilion. In this area, the heaven and earth spritual energy was at least 4 times of that in the other area.
"This is Spirit Artifact Hall. This is where we hold our stock of 20 artifacts. Out of the 20 artifacts, there is only 1 flexible spear because these types of spears are not only rare but also incredibly difficult to produce." While we were walking, they came across a a young girl browsing through the spirit artifacts. When Crystal saw her, her facial expression changed.
Eira saw this. "Who is she?"
Crystal replied. "That's little genius of the Ancient Phoenix Clan, Feng Yue. I heard that her cultivation had just reached the 5th stage of Foundation Building last month. She is 13 years old and seems to be the most talented of the newer generation."
Eira observed this girl in front of her. She had wavy, shoulder length, vermillion colored hair. She was around her own height and had a dignified face.
Feeling that someone was looking at her, she turned and saw 3 people looking at her. She was surprised and walked over to them and cupped her hands. "Princess Lumi, Princess Crystal." She then turned to Eira and when she felt her aura she was shocked. "You must be Eira. My name is Feng Yue. It's nice to meet you." She held out her hand. Eira grabbed her hand and shook it. "It nice to meet you as well. Maybe we can be friends."
Feng Yue nodded and smiled but when she turned around, she saw a dark face. "Cousin Yu?"
"Yue'er, what are you doing here with... these people?" He didn't even bother to hide the disgust and loathing in his voice. Feng Yue was shocked. Her cousin never acted like this in front on her. He was always gentle and cared for her inside of the Phoenix clan. But now, she felt that he was unfamiliar.
"I made a new friend..." Just as she was gonna continue, Feng Yu interrupted her. "Friend? This bastard child from the lower realms... is worthy enough to be friends with you?" Eira furrowed her brows while Crystal and Lumi's faces became dark. Feng Yu looked at Eira's mother. "A bitch and a bastard child, what a perfect combination. Why don't you just scram back to the lower realms so I don't have to see you."
At this point, Eira was boiling. She took a step forward and put a hand on Feng Yue's shoulder. "Sorry in advance." Before anyone could react, Eira flickered away from Feng Yue.
*PAH*
The loud noise of skin being slapped echoed throughout the building.
"You can talk however you want in your Ancient Phoenix Clan but in front of me, its best if you walk away or else I won't hold back. Your cousin can be friends with whomever she damn well chooses. Now scram for me!" Eira turned to Feng Yue. "I am sorry for how I acted just now. I hope you don't take offense."
Feng Yue looked at her cousin who was still in a daze from being slapped and sighed. "Actually, you don't have to apologize." She then turned to Eira's mother and bowed. "I apologize for the things that my cousin said. Just take it as a dog barking at you."
"Dog?" Feng Yu woke from his stupor and viciously glared at Eira. "I FUCKING KILL YOU, BASTARD!" He took out his sword and lunged at Eira and slashed down.
"STOP!" Someone ran over and yelled but it was too late to stop the sword from going down.
Everyone paled and thought that Eira was going to get sliced in half by Feng Yue slash but when he sliced through, there was no blood. Feng Yu felt no resistance. Then his vision went dark and he fell to the floor.
Everyone looked at the Eira standing behind the falling Feng Yu. The afterimage beside Feng Yue slowly faded away and everyone was stunned. Not everyone saw what she did but the man that yelled out did and he was terrified by it. He walked over and when he saw who it was, he cursed his son 10,000 times in his heart.
"Uncle Yan? Your here." Feng Yue walked over.
"Can you tell me what happened?" Feng Yan looked at his son on the floor with furrowed brows.
"Yea..." Feng Yue told him everything. From how she met Eira and became acquaintances with her to how Feng Yu insulted her and her mother all the way up to when she slapped Feng Yu and lastly about how when she apologized for him, he suddenly became a mad dog and attempted to bite Eira.
When he heard the whole story, he became furious and looked at his son with disgust. He calmed down and walked to Crystal, Lumi and Eira. "I apologize for my son's actions here today. If there is anything I can do you, I won't hesitate to help out."
"There's no need Senior Yan, I was only standing up for my mother and my new friend. I hope that this matter can end here if possible." Eira cupped her hands and spoke as the junior.
Feng Yan observed this young girl before him. Calm, steady, decisive, ruthless. This little girl before him acted differently from others her age. He also saw that her cultivation was 1st Stage of Foundation Building.
"You must be Eira. Are you participating in the Youth Martial Meeting in 2 years?"
Eira nodded. "Yes, there are elders inside the dragon clan that have a problem with me having a human father so I have to prove my worth to them."
Feng Yan nodded and smiled. "During the finals of the Meeting, there will be Upper Realm sect representatives coming down to watch. If you can make it to the finals, you have a high chance of getting notice by them. I hope everything goes well for you."
"Thanks for your blessing, Senior Yan. I will try my best to go as far as I can." Eira cupped her hands and walked over to Feng Yue. "I hope we can still be friends after what happened. If you ever feel like talking, you can come over to Luminous Courtyard whenever." Eira smiled at her and Feng Yue smiled back and nodded.
"Likewise, let's meet up some other time."
After bidding the Pheonix Clan people fairwell, We continued to walk to the back of the of the Artifact Room. In the back there was a large black case. The aura emanating from the case made one breathless. The manager stopped in front of the case. "This is our only flexible spear. The master that made this only gave us that information. As for anything else, we do not know. You won't be able to open the case unless you prove yourself to be worthy of wielding this weapon. I will tell you, this is the hardest trial of any spirit artifact. Are you sure you want this?" He looked at Eira but all he saw was a cool expression on her face.
"Since I need a flexible spear, then I won't shortchange myself. How do I start the trial?" Eira asked.
"Just send your spirit energy into the case and your soul will be brought into the spear's spirit realm where the trial is conducted." Eira nodded and sent her spirit energy into the case. After pouring her energy into the case, her surroundings changed.
