He checked her pulse, then quickly carried her in his arms and left the bar. As they got outside, Helen opened her eyes and looked at him with a mischievous glint in her gaze.
Dr. Phillip stopped in his tracks. "Were you lying to me?" he asked.
"If you were calm, you could have seen that I was lying," she replied with a smirk, placing her hand on his chest. "How about you stop ignoring me and speak to me?"
Dr. Phillip was pissed. He wanted to drop her right then and there but hesitated, worried she might get hurt and use it against him later.
"Helen," he said through gritted teeth. "do you know how much I despise you?"
"Despise me?" she echoed, her tone playful. "I don't know about that, but six years ago I made a bet with you, and I plan on fulfilling it."
Dr. Phillip resumed walking, taking her to his car. He placed her gently in the front seat.
