Chương 28: Welcome

Upstairs:

When Li Jie knocked and opened the door, xiaoxi who was checking herself for 100th time in the mirror turned back and looked at Li Jie who just entered and greeted him.

"hi, Mr. li" - she greeted him.

When Li Jie saw xiaoxi, she was in black knee length dress which exposed her beautiful legs. She had minimalistic makeup on her. Her long hair was straightened, left loose which flowed on her shoulders.

Her eyes seem to shine more with the black colour and her skin looked so fair. And she looked like a perfect beauty. And her lips with a pink matte lipstick made it more beautiful.

He was stunned and couldn't think anything but just stare at her. He couldn't take his eyes away from her.

All his tensions, stress and all the worries seemed to have evaporated. He left nothing but calmness spreading through him. He felt peaceful.

On the other side, xiaoxi who was shy could only lower her head. His stare was so intense that she couldn't look straight into his eyes.

Coming out of his trance, Li jie sighed and went towards xiaoxi.

Standing in front of her, Li jie lifted her chin with his fingers and made her look into his eyes while his other hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer.

"baby, you look so beautiful that I can't take my eyes off you"

Stunned by his words, she blushed when she heard him say,

"hi baby, I am home" – he smiled.

Blushing and smiling, she mumbled, "welcome home".

Smiling at his little wife, Li jie hugged her, placed his head on top of her head and sighed.

"you know, I was all in a bad mood today, stressed so much, but as soon as I say you, all my stress is gone just like that.

If this is how every day is going to be, then I don't mind taking stress daily at work."

Listening to his words, xioaxi smiled and wrapped her hands around him and hugged him.

"I don't know whether I am able to take out your stress or not, but I can definitely bear them and share them with you. You can count on me,"- xiaoxi replied.

Smiling at her words, he hugged her tighter "let's just stay like this for some time" and closed his eyes.

Smiling, xiaoxi nodded her head lightly and closed her eyes.

5:45 pm:

Holding hand in hand, Li jie and xiaoxi made their way downstairs.

Looking at their interlocked hands, all the members of Li family, aunty Gu as well as the maids were happy.

They both looked so perfect with each other. Their pair looked so good that one could see what the meaning is of made in heaven and made for each other just by looking at them.

Standing in front the li parents, Li jie said,

"mom we are going to meet my friends, we will be back soon but won't be having dinner at home."

Stopping them, mother Li hurriedly took out her phone and said,

"wait Li Jie, let me take a picture of you both. You both are looking so good."

Before Li jie could say anything to mother li, zhang xiaoxi squeezed his hand and smiled, "sure mom".

Poor li jie, one side it was his mother and other side it was his wife, he could only sigh and nod his head.

"get a bit closer"- commented mother li who started taking their pictures.

After what seemed like a century, and thousands of pictures, Li Jie reminded his mother. "mom, we are getting late. We stay here remember. You can take as many pictures as you want."

Though mother Li was sad, she could only suppress her excitement and let them go.

As soon as they were out of sight, mother li sent those pictures to mother zhang.

ZHANG MANSION:

*ding ding*

Mother zhang and father zhang were sitting in their lounge and talking random things when mother zhang phone beeped.

Looking at her phone, when mother zhang realised that it was mother Li who sent something, she opened the text.

As soon as she saw the pictures, mother zhang covered her mouth with her hand and started sobbing and smiling.

Father zhang who saw her sobbing, panicked and hugged her shoulders.

"honey, what happened? Is there something wrong? Why are you crying."

Looking at father zhang, mother zhang placed her head on his chest and sobbed harder while showing him the pics.

Looking at the pictures, father zhang eyes turned misty but he smiled

"his baby girl is happy. And he can tell that from her smile in the pictures and that is all that matters."

He composed himself quickly and consoled mother zhang.

Back in the car,

Li jie was driving while xiaoxi sat in the co-pilot seat. Xiaoxi was so nervous that she couldn't stop herself from fidgeting her hands.

Li jie was also nervous not because he was introducing her to his friends, but he has to tell zhang xiaoxi tonight that he was going on the trip. He just doesn't want to spoil her mood that's why he didn't tell her before and was planning to tell her when returning home.

Looking at her fidgeting her hands, he held her hands in his right hand while driving with his left hand.

When she felt his touch, she lifted her head and looked at him.

"are you nervous to meet my friends?"- asked Li jie.

she shook her head and nodded at the same time.

Chuckling at her reaction, he said

"you don't have to be nervous. They are just my friends. They are very easy-going people. Don't worry. I am here alright."

Getting his assurance, she took a deep breath, smiled and nodded her head.

After about 30 minutes, they stopped at a high-end restaurant. Getting down from the car, he was about to go to the other side and open the door for xiaoxi but saw she got down by herself.

Standing in front of her and extending his hand, Li jie asked "ready MRS. LI?"

Smiling at him, she nodded her head and placed her hand on his hand, "yes MR. Li"
