And as soon as Ambrosia completed, the others in the court hurriedly spoke out, defending their Queen.

"My Princess, that is way out of line."

"My Princess, it is not the way you dress our Queen."

"Way out of line? General you go by letting me know how it is way out of line?

But it was not way out of line when a contract was formulated to sell the Princess of the Palace in exchange for loyalty and an army from a Mortal kingdom.

She, our Royal Highness, the Empress, the Beam of Sunlight to the throne of Saunders, keeps on making these most reckless and nonsense of decisions, and yet to avoid a war, out of fear, that is not here at all, we keep abiding by it...does that makes sense to you?

Or abiding by some most impropriety decisions, taken in the name of keeping the Kingdom secure, not out of line?

What do I get? What do I achieve out of all this?"

The Princess was red and breathing high by that time as she burst out in front of everyone at the Queen, her mother.

Celeste remained silent through it all, watching her daughter having multiple thoughts about her, not in favor, coming out altogether like molten lava from the peak of a volcanic mountain.

"I m to marry an underage mortal Prince...a joke on my face...a joke on each of your faces plastered in a tight slap...none of you rose your voice then...why do I assume you would if this man...a killer, as I shall always address him all my life is made the leader of an army meant for only Protection, not killing...only saving.

Yet, my Queen..."

Ambrosia turned to look at her royal highness, extending her hand to hold her mother's in.

"...you can go right ahead and make this killer..."

She glared at Hamza and then back at the Queen. She could feel the warmth, the burning sensation stemming from the Princess's skin.

"...the leader, duped in the blood and cries of those young soldiers, buried in the border of where your territory ends, beginning to the Moribund Lands.

There was no need of calling me to slap another insult on my face.

I think I had enough of it here."

She turned around to leave right away and when the Generals tried to stop her, the Queen signaled them not to, knowing that if made the Princess wait another moment here, her wrath could burn down the entire court in seconds.

As Ambrosia stormed out of the court, she felt awful, so much awful...not good at all, that it made her want to turn back and apologizes to her mother right away, but only to realize that there was no mother anymore, it was the Queen of Saunders...only she was there.

Her father would be so disappointed in her for the way she reacted tonight if he was alive. He would have never given his consent to the action.

All of it, whatever she had blurted out in the court, in front of all, had come out from the exhaustion, the mere frustration of it all, that she had been keeping submerged in herself for too long.

But it was not how she had pictured her farewell to her mother...the regrets were all there, in the air, with her, within her...it was everywhere.

From not being able to be the daughter that her father would have been proud of, from being the reason for the demise of a phenomenal Mortal warrior, drawn to the path of death upon her stupidity, to not being able to not stop the mass killing of the innocent werewolves and her best friend, Lucia, failing to be a figure that the people of this land could look up to and feel protected...the list could go on...

It was never-ending, just like her thoughts in the twilight, forever hidden away in the darkness of her mind, staring out at the open window in her room, sitting in the gloaming.

Past was passed, and could never mix in with the present, the light of the future, she saw how it could break in the darkness of the night as the first ray of sunlight hit her face.

Although doubts swam in her mind, she stood up with determination and walked out of her room.

The palace was the most quietest during this hour, the transition from night to another day.

As the night guards were about to retire and their places being taken up by the new ones, she strode down the courtyard, in barefoot, stopping by only at her mother's chambers.

She watched her mother rest on the Queen sized bed, with her eyes open.

That was how the Vampire Queen slept. For any outsider, it would be as if she was wide awake.

Parting her gaze from it, she turned around to leave. Going back to her part of the chamber, the guards bowed their heads down to her.  She closed the door behind her.

She wore the red cloak, tying it to her body, and then walked up to the balcony. The cold morning breeze hit her face.

Standing up on the railing, she turned around such that her back was facing the outside and her front to the room.

And her jumping down from the terrace, with eyes closed and as she wore the cloak to her face, she disappeared.

There was no problem in crossing the gates of the Capitol only because no one could see her.

She was like the air, breaking through the barriers, almost felt like a soul, her presence felt by none.

She turned around once to look back at the faraway palace, standing at the end of its perimeter. She was leaving behind her home...close to it, a place where she would always return to after her day's adventure.

The marching away from the Capitol to the many towns that followed took her one day.  It felt like the spells of the cloak were weighing heavy on her ability to fly away.

It made sense because the cloak was made to resist all the powers emanating from the immortals.

She had crossed by the line separating the Mirror Forest from the kingdom, many times by then, not being able to decide if she was making a mistake or not.

But as time were flying by and she had to make a quick decision, standing by the tip of the mountain, she did not feel anyone approaching her until...

"Believe me...you do not want to do that?"
