The sniper's eyes widened in surprise, but Lucas's icy glare kept him silent.
"Disarm yourself," Lucas demanded, his voice a low growl.
"Wh-why are you doing this?" the sniper stammered, his voice trembling with fear and confusion.
"Which one do you want me to answer?" Lucas replied coldly, a sardonic smile curling his lips. "The reason I rescued Mr. Ryley from you or the reason I'm setting you free? Doesn't matter. Leave everything you have now and run away from here."
Feeling insulted and defiant, the sniper stubbornly stepped in front of Lucas as he turned to leave. "I'm not escaping like a coward!"
"You sure?" Lucas's eyes flashed with a dangerous glint as he pointed to the flickering light on the sniper's watch. "Who are you asking for help? The other escorting Mr. Mervyn and Mr. Morgan?"
The sniper shook his head, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple. "They are too far away from here."
