Amara woke up from the rays of the sun directly hitting her face from the windows. She groggily lifted her hand and covered her face with her elbows. She wondered how the sun was up when it was only last night that it rained heavily like a storm.
She felt something heavy draped on her abdomen, so she looked down and saw an arm embracing her. At first, it hadn't yet registered in her head, then, when the memories of the past night came rushing into her mind, her eyes widened, and she shockingly looked at the man beside her.
Azer lay on his side; his face was leaning on her, his arm wrapped around her tightly as though he had no intention of letting her go. Amara's heart skipped a beat. Her breathing hitched and her words caught up on her throat.
