Waking up fully, I was once again in God's Dimension. Taking a quick look to the side, I was relieved to see Sarah standing there, looking fine. Although a single day had passed, Skyrim was a dangerous world, and I couldn't help but worry about her.
Thankfully, other than a rosy face from the cold, she was fine.
Although, she did look a little disappointed.
"I couldn't get in."
I smiled, but as she looked at me, her eyes widened in disbelief, and she added, "You managed to get all that in a single fucking day?! All I got was a pissy High Elf who refused me entry, and another half-mad one rambling about the stars or something."
Oh, so she met Nelacar. That was an interesting NPC in the game, because he was essential to one of the Daedric Quests, to get either Azura's Star or the Black Star.
The quest was a little too high leveled for us now though, as to resolve it we would need to kill a mage who was capable of sending his soul into a Daedric Artefact and seal it. Moreover, he is also protected by Dremoras. And that's just in the game.
Tapping my chest, I replied, "I had to go through much more dangerous stuff than in Helgen to get these. Besides, we still got many Points for more time in there. But first, I got to take a nap, because I'm exhausted. Before I go however…"
I took out all the spell books I had gotten, as well as the mage clothes I got in Helgen.
Sarah looked at the stuff in her hands with unfocused eyes, before saying, "I don't know how to repay you…"
Rolling my eyes, I turned around, replying, "Just learn them, and that'll be good enough."
With that said, I finally got some well deserved sleep.
---
A few hours later, I was surprised to not only find Sarah next to God, but the entirety of my team. The moment I walked out of my house, all their eyes fixed on me, as if they had been expecting my arrival.
Waving a lazy hand, I greeted, "Good morning to you all… or afternoon or evening, who knows in this place." If there was one thing I found annoying about God's Dimension, it was the absence of a day and night cycle.
Most of the team looked at me awkwardly, except for Sarah, who waved back with a smile.
Glancing over them, I asked, "Where are your creations?"
Chris's face turned a little rancid at my words, and Jonathan looked down, muttering something. I knew it sounded rude to call them that way, but that was intentional.
It was Sarah who answered, "We've pretty much started gathering together at Chris' house, and they are there preparing lunch."
Frowning, I said, "You can create already prepared dishes, why would they be cooking?"
I glanced at Chris, and added, "Besides, isn't Thomas a soldier? Why are you having him cook instead of joining us?"
I expected Chris to flare up at that, to which I was fully ready to start an argument. I completely disagreed with the way Thomas was just staying in here, not coming in missions to help us.
However, Chris only looked away, looking guilty.
Rolling my eyes, I looked at Erik, and asked, "Did you guys exchange for anything then?"
Erik nodded stiffly, "Low Level Qi. It slightly enhances my physical Stats, and gives me access to the energy of Qi, which I can use for a variety of effects."
I turned to Jonathan, who had a wand in his hands, and excitedly explained, "I exchanged for a Wizard's bloodline in Harry Potter, as well as a Wand. Just wait till I learn Avada Kedavra, and we'll cheese all our missions!"
I had several things to say, but seeing his optimism, and seeing hope in it spurring some training out of him, I decided to simply nod, before turning to Chris.
"I didn't exchange for a body enhancement, but raw stats and a weapon. I exchanged for an Infinite Slug Beneli M2 Super 90."
Titling my head, I said, "I have no idea what that is. And how did you distribute your Stats?"
Instead of replying, Chris asked, "Have you seen John Wick 3?"
I nodded, the question almost bringing a smile to my lips. It wasn't so long ago I wanted to make John Wick my Human Creation.
"Remember that scene when the agents of the High Table invade the Continental, wearing bulletproof armor? I got the shotgun John Wick uses to blow through their armors, and mine has infinite ammo. And it only cost 500 Points, so I used the remaining on my stats. 50 on my Reaction Speed, and 100 on Muscle Density."
Overall, those were all decent purchases.
Now, since they had all told me about their enhancements, it was my turn. I couldn't just ask theirs' and leave them in the dark.
"I exchanged for the Super Soldier Physique, as well as High Force Sensitivity. That gives me slightly more potential in the Force than Yoda and Palpatine. I also got several pieces of equipment from Skyrim, such as a sword that deals electrical damage, an armor that improves poison resistance and gauntlets that increase my strength."
They looked surprised, although I'm not sure whether it was because I had better or worse enhancements than they thought. Well, I did tell them about some of them before, so probably the first one.
Looking at Sarah, I asked, "Ready to go back?"
Sarah scratched her head, her face turning awkward, as she said, "About that… we can't go back in Skyrim."
Freezing for a moment, I asked, "What?"
Sarah explained, "Well, I explored the Exchange System a bit, and discovered a few things. First, we can't go back to a world several times in one intermission, so we'll have to wait until after the next mission if we want to return. Also, I discovered we could exchange all kinds of currencies and precious metals for fractions of a Point, so…"
So all the Septims I had gathered and wasted space on had been for nothing.
Fuck!
Not only could I have gotten many more potions, I had also wasted a huge opportunity to stay for a long time in Skyrim. From now on, any day spent in Skyrim would be at the price of five.
Fuck!
As my anger flared, the faces of my teammates changed. Seeing this, I took a breath, cooling down as I asked, "Anything else?"
Sarah pointed at her mouth, and asked, "What language are you speaking, and what do you hear me say?"
Shrugging, I replied, "English."
Sarah grinned, and said, "What if I told you I was speaking Italian?"
I blinked, "You are Italian?"
Her smile receded as she groaned, "What's up with your reaction! We have an integrated translator that works perfectly. Isn't that awesome?"
"I'm still too angry to feel any other emotion."
Sarah rolled her eyes, and Erik suddenly asked, "What will you do now?"
A little confused, I turned to him, and asked, "Like I said, train until the next mission. And I expect you guys to do the same."
Erik suddenly slammed his fists together, forming a martial greeting as he requested, "Would you consider training with us then? Sparing, maybe?"
A little weirded out, I muttered, "You don't have to be so formal."
Although, I guess I did threaten these guys once or twice…
Chris quickly added, "We made a common training ground in my basement. We intended to all go there and train together. It would be great if you could come, instead of- ugh, I mean, it would be great."
I frowned and said, "You don't have to be on your toes like that, you know. I'm not going to kill you because you misspoke."
They looked hesitant, and flashed awkward smiles, so I added with a sigh, "Look, I know I may be harsh, and seem unfriendly. But the reason I am like this isn't because of the Dark Side of the Force, but because I have expectations. I want you to survive, and become strong. Not because I am altruistic, but because I want our team to be strong enough to beat this game and get out."
Jonathan was the first to speak as he took out his wand, pointing it to the sky, or whatever was above us, and proclaimed loudly, "Let's beat this pussy-ass-bitch game together!"
I felt blood trickle down my ears, but it did make us smile.
