another day, another 24 hours spent searching. for even a shred of information on theing Jeongin kid.
I came up with almost nothing.
all supposed sightings ended with the person either dead, or they went missing days after claiming they had seen Yang Jeongin.
the victims were left beside a circle painted black and red.
every.
single.
time.
it made me wonder what exactly I was getting myself into...
but I never stopped.
those three men were my best shot at finding taeyong. mark was the only reason I was putting in half as much effort as I was before. the reason I sought help instead of working alone, as always.
I was a man of few conversations, and a man of even fewer words.
I blinked at the screen, trying to find anything, literally anything I could use to find those three men from back then, something told me they were connected to this boy... and I needed to know how.
I ran my fingers through my hair, highly frustrated.
Jeongin, Jeongin, Jeongin... the only name on my mind, a constant thought in my head.
it wasn't an unpleasant thought, but it frustratee sometimes, to know I may have to call in more favors than I had originally thought.
I pushed away from the desk, leaving the dark room, going into the bright hallway.
a groan left my lips as I stumbled in the new lighting.
I began the journey out of the Neozone, into Wonderland.
I couldn't allow anyone to know of my search for the fox like boy.
if my memory served to be correct, sirens were very territorial, filled with constant paranoia... for a siren to know you're looking for them, could mean certain death.
I left Wonderland, going back into the over world, a hell for people like me, nothing at all like Utopia.
Hongjoong never understood why I preferred to stay in the over world instead of living in Utopia...
Utopia would change nothing for my kind, and it couldn't house everyone. I'd rather my space go to someone who needs it more, rather than I take it for just simply knowing the creator.
the only way all my people could experience something like Utopia, is to set my people free.
I've been planning for years, notebooks piled high, written in a long forgotten tongue.
years of planning, within the old abandoned warehouse I reside in now.
when I arrived... I found the door was open.
I always left it closed.
I tilted my head to the side, letting out a soft, low whistle, an gray cat coming forth.
I knelt in front of her.
"Dori, who's inside?"
"I dunno Minho, he just dragged in a carcass and began eating it right away. Payed Soonie, Doongi, and I no mind,"
"I swear if the blood staind my notes-" I sighed, standing up I walked through the front door.
I called out," I know you're here,"
I heard a sudden gasp.
"I'm not going to hurt you kid,"
a raspy voice with the screech of a thousand razors sounded through the room," how can I trusssst you?"
"you can't, trust is built over time. however I run the same as you, I fight for the same reasons that we're labled as outcasts. I fight for a better world... come out,"
"I don't even know your name sssssir,"
"call me Lino," I smiled," who are you?"
"call me I.N."
"well I.N. aren't you going to come out? you'll need help to rid the carcass. I can't have evidence lieing around my quarters,"
"MINE!!!" the boy hissed.
"Indeed it is yours, finish eating... I'll hide the corpse... so you won't get caught,"
"you'll help me?"
"We're in the same boat I.N. I couldn't escape my need to do magick, no matter how much I hate it... you can't deny yourself the need to feed... I'm going to help you, as all dpecies should help one another,"
the razor tone left the boy's voice, leaving a gentler tone as he spoke, stepping out into the sliver of light the street lights allowed," You're not angry with me?"
"you were hungry, you are scared. I can't be angry with you I.N."
"I need to leave soon, go home,"
I shook my head," it's too risky. stay the night and I'll take you somewhere to clean up in the morning. there are major patrols on the streets right now, you'll be caught or ambushed,"
"oh..."
"you can stay, here with me. I was just going to study my notes and spells until dawn. I rarely sleep, I'll keep an eye out and look for a spell to rid you of the corpse,"
"how can I trust you?"
"you can't, and I wouldn't trust me either, but you have a very little chance of making it home in this state... if you want, I can have my familiars watch over you as I stay elsewhere,"
"NO!!!" he started," I mean... you can stay here... I'll just sleep,"
"Sleep well I.N. I'll protect you... no harm will come to you... I promise,"
the boy nodded, laying down on the old mattress.
I smiled, casting a soft light spell, reading in the dim lighting one of the many journals I had at my disposal.
