Chương 5: Magic is Real.
"WAKE UP EZ! WE'RE GONNA BE LATE." Screams the redhead banshee.
"Mmmm five more minutes Lydia." I say as i turn over and cuddle back into my blanket.
She leaves the room and im surprised by how easy it was until i hear a sloshing sound and i jolt up only to be met by a faceful of water.
"WHAT THE FUCK" but little did i know that my mom wasnt having any of this nonsense. Man I didn't know she could be so scary.
After she smacked me so hard i swore i saw 8 of her spinning, i can see Lydia smirking leaning on my door "I thought you wanted 5 more minutes? You still have a minute thirty two left."
I glare at her before getting out of bed and walking next to her before shaking the water out of my hair making sure Lydia gets in my splash zone. "Aaaahah you ass. Its gonna take forever to get my makeup done again."
"Next time leave mom out of it" im lowkey upset but we can throw temper tantrums later.
We eventually reach the car with Lydia driving this time. I put my head back to the seat to close my eyes to catch a few minutes of peace. We're driving peacefully when i feel a magical pulse. Its weak but i notice it and upon opening my eyes i feel its Lydia.
"Is there something on my face?" she asks and im fully alert. Lydia has charmspeak. Mom showed it to me once so i can build a resistance. This is gonna be tricky, i guess her Banshee heritage is finally emerging. Was she subconsciously using Charm Speak the whole show? That would explain a lot.
Charmspeak is a unique subcategory of sound magic that very few magical creatures such as Veela, Banshee, Vampires and Kitsune can use. Ill talk to mom about it and see what we should do about Lydia.
"Helloooo what ya thinking about there Ez? Dont just leave me here in silence." - Lydia
"Oh, i was just thinking about telling mom that you finally awoke your magic and what should we do about it."
My eyes widen in realization. Did she just affect me with her charmspeak? Damn shes powerful if she did that not even knowing she had magic. Gotta pay attention when im around her.
"Magic? Are you okay? You don't have to be a dick just cuz you dont feel like sharing."
We spend the rest of the drive in silence until we get to school and seperate.
I spend the day going through classes with Allison and Erica, and finally joining back up with Lydia and Jackson during lunch. Jackson is still a dick, but makes sense. You are what you eat afterall.
After school is the last day for tryouts for Lacrosse. We go out because Jackson is the captain so here we are sitting in the bleachers and to my surprise i see Scott sitting with Tracy. Huh butterflies.
Anyways after glancing past the ex and the beta i realize the game is boring. All the players are average at best except for Jackson Scott and surprisingly Stiles. That guy is quick when he's on the field and he always manages to create opening shots for who ever catches the ball. The perfect wingman, hes kind of wasted on Scott. I need a wingman.
Finally we're back home and i made a decision. With magic that strong its only a matter of time she charmspeaks some magical creature and they take it as an offense.
Let me clarify Im Human. But i wield magic. Humans have a natural tolerance to magic of about 3%, even the weakest Beta wolf has a 30% magical resistance. But then thats if you're weaker than it. If it only takes you 5% of your mana pool to perform a spell capable of killing it then you have nothing to worry about.
But Back to Lydia, there are a lot of supernatural in Beacon hills because of the nemeton. If she charmspeaks some magical creature and they dont like being controlled they might just kill her. Then thinking about it how many times was Lydia made a hostage in this world. Yea not happening.
"Hey Lydia. can we talk?" Erza
"Hm? sure whats up?" - Lydia
"Actually come with me." I walk upstairs to the house Library where mom always relaxes. And yupp shes on her Beanbag with a cup of tea. "Mom...we need to talk."
"Hm whats wrong?" - Irene
"Lydia has magic."
"What this again? Cmon Ezra this is getting ridiculous. Arent you too old to be talking about magic." Lydia starts lecturing me but is interrupted by one word from my mom.
"A banshee? Interesting how did i not notice you sooner? Perhaps not a full banshee just a half? No i met your mother and shes human. Perhaps a quarter from your Dads family? But why now? Its not your birthday? What happened recen...the funeral" my mother rants when Lydia interrupts.
"Oh c'mon not you too Ms. B. Magic isnt real and you should know this as a woman of Science."
"Oh Lydia Magic is all around us."
At this point i use some spacial magic to teleport myself from behind Lydia to behind my mother. A neon lime green glow with a flash of red hair and Lydia is shocked stammering.
"How? You..When?"
"Lydia." One word from my mother had Lydia focused on her and her eyes glow a dark neon green "Magic is real."
