The atmosphere grew heavy as I and Xavier stared at each other without saying anything. 

Lucius murmured something about going to check on some soldiers and left taking the girls with him. Finally, it was just me and Xavier. 

"Why are you doing this, Selene?" Xavier broke the silence "I know I made a lot of mistakes in the past but I have changed and I'm ready to prove that to you,". 

"I'm sorry, Xavier," I said coldly "But there's nothing to be proven. There was a time when I wanted to be loved by you. When I craved your attention and I got repaid by your repeated cheating spree with Belinda. Now you can be with her and fuck her all you want,".
