It's still happening...
Can't a guy just raise his bug in peace?
Alright... well after a day of grinding up my little buddy I learned a few things.
The first thing is that Tamed creatures evolve like summons.
Second, you gain XP from familiar kills, but not the other way around.
And finally third, Tamed creatures work like NPCs, that being they have personality, but they don't have quest type coding as far as I know.
You can still manipulate NPCs, they act and think like humans but they still have to abide by code... example being the Uncle Dough quest.
How did I figure out that Tamed creatures evolved?
Well, my little Cultipede is no longer a Cultipede. The official species declared it was a Mullipede... it's level also reset.
It's stats went down, but it is getting more per level now. And it's voice is more clear... still sounds like a old radio though.
To be honest, I didn't know this.
No wonder all those tamer players had exotic species, they just evolved regular ones... it was a scam!
Also, if you are wondering... it evolves instantly, like it glows, then it's evolved.
Dice had turned from his black coloring to white, now with additional glowy bits of red around the creases in it's Exo Skeleton. Along with it's bigger size its Pretty rad I'd say, but then again I'm not a fashion Deva.
Also, I kept thinking about the name dice... but it's kinda symbolic you know?
I'm kind of a lucky bastard.
But, nothing comes with down merits... I have so little money... even after selling all of the items I still had on me!
It only amounted to 2 Gold! During my hayday, gold coins were like sweat dripping off of me.
And I only got 2 now. I could afford almost nothing to power boost me from any market.
Basically, I don't have an advantage for now... meaning I need to earn some cash before doing something cool now.
Bugger, bet ya were expecting me to do some crazy Main Character shit right? Tough nuts!
This game is actually really hard! I'm basically just cheating!
It's like using a speedrun to measure the difficulty of a quarter muncher arcade game!
Actually, I guess this really is a quarter muncher arcade game.
It's got:
Absurdly Hard difficulty
Shit loads of references and Easter eggs
And it takes money to play a single run
See? Not a bad comparison... maybe I'm being dramatic with the money thing... I guess if time is money to you then it makes sense.
I got nothing better to do anyways.
Me - " Well, dice it's time to rest. We did good work today I'd say. "
Dice - " I concur. "
Me - " Want something to eat? I got enough money for at least a nice meal before we hit the sack. "
He nodded his head, of course he would want something to eat if I promise it's really good. Let's see what's available around town.
System, are there any cafe's open?
| No |
Ahh right, the event... well the inn also doubles as a tavern... maybe we can grab a bite there.
I entered while I had dice crawl through the window to my room, just in case they don't like huge bugs in here, I walked up to the tavern keeper.
There were actually people in there this time, I guess taverns are a fantasy staple so players might want a drink before the event... really RP it up, maybe even discuss some battle plans.
But not me, I'm just here to get food and sleep... despite being virtual you can get drunk... I'm not good with Ale or Lager.
Vodka and Wine are my taste... something a little refined despite that making me sound like a loser, too bad wine is only for top tier players or rich NPCs.
I'll try the ale when a dwarf invites me to drink, I think that would be my best first experience with that type of alcohol.
I bought a Rice and meat meal set for me, and a Large Meat and Vegi set for Dice.
From my experience with monsters, that being my mount previously, I know they eat alot.
I headed up to my room, some player just slammed one of their doors and yelled
" Baka ", ...like calm down this is a public place...
I entered my room with the meals, Dice sat next to the bed... I set the meal beside him and set myself up at the table, while eating is needed by players in the game, you only need to eat once a day, and you can get slight stat increases for the next day if they are made from Chef Players or NPCs.
I got a small STR boost, Dice got a DEX boost... I can't believe I forgot the specific boosts for the different food types.
My knowledge is really inconsistent.
The goal tommorow is to shoot a bunch of the boss monsters that will show up in the event, hoping to get lots of credit... and to get a some kinda ltem.
I got about half a gold on me.
It's safe to assume you know the conversion rates, it's standardized in all fantasy settings isn't it.
I wonder why.

Well, here is the big day.
It's event time... I see lots of players gathered around... it seems their average level is around 30, very few level 50 players. And those who are don't seem to have their SubClass for some reason.
Maybe it's a new thing? Like instead of mixing to create something you just use the pure form, is it stronger?
I don't know, but I guess it's too late.
I'm may be under equiped, but it doesn't matter, I got blood bullets. Thankfully you don't need high level ammo for high level mobs.
The event began, according to the map... a shit ton of beast type monsters will be spawning north... demons in the south, elementals in the east... and nothing confirmed for the west.
There is absolutely going to be a boss from the west, no fucking doubt about it, so I guess I'll set up shop at a guard tower there... they are abandoned for now so I can get an easy sniping spot.
The size of the city was smaller than you'd be inclined to think, I can't compare it too much. But I guess just imagine the typical starter fantasy town, but without the wall.
You know what I'm talking about.
Its a shooting gallery for me, I'll have Dice by next to me for now... don't want him to be confused for a normal monster.
While I know the base sniper skills, it's not bad to check before a fight incase anything's different.
Dash - Temporary increase speed, uses stamina.
Trick Shot - Add an extra effect to a shot, uses stamina.
Freedoms of Movement - Passively grants enchanted speed in all areas.
Recall - Passively Allows faster spell casting
Input - Actions can be delayed for mana
Bulwark - Passively Negates all knockback
Nope, looks like it's all default.
Let's try out my favorite technique.
Blood Barrage, is what I call it.
Use trick shot for AoE on my attacks, and use Input to delay it to all at once... covering a huge area with huge AoE damage!
Of course, the recoil from that shit stanks, so I got Bulwark wich negates it, and all other knock back.
Pretty cool huh? It's like a Yugioh player with a Meta deck showing off to kids who only unpacked one starter pack.
Im still shit out of luck if an Assasin comes though. Let's hope the kids don't have the one counter to me.
Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire ect...
I can fully charge up to 27 blasts with 1/4 of my Mana, and 1/8 of my stamina.
I like to keep some just in case.
Let's rock and roll
