Chương 72: Smooth sailing

We entered the storm. It wasn't too big a deal. The storm was probably rotating at 1300km/h but it's not too much.

If it was Earth then a lot of things would have happened. If I was still the same, I would have died. But no, that didn't happen.

Because I am strong now. I covered the whole ship with two barriers to keep the storm out and canceled the storm by using the same speed in the opposite direction.

Two opposite vectors cancel each other. So I had no need of erecting two barriers but I am a cautious man.

Now I look at my crew. They were kind of anxious about the storm but they are fine now.

From the inside, it looks beautiful. It's just a gas storm with a lot of sand particles but it looks mesmerizing.

It all comes together somehow. It's chaotic but when you look at it, it kinda meshes together.

Weirdly enough I kinda like its avant-garde charm.

"It looks soothing."

I let that slip out of my lips and everyone looked at me. Like I was some weird creature.

"What? Can't you see it's beauty?"

"No. All I can see is sand moving at a ridiculous speed." (Fay)

"Master, even I agree with Fay on this matter." (Hazel)

"Darling, your sense of art is quite imaginative." (Aura)

All of them retorted. Aren't they treating me too harshly?

"Don't worry. It varies from person to person."

I try to play it cool but really, the storm is captivating.

(Clive, you need to work on your art sense.)

You are the last person I want to hear this from. It's kinda aggravating.

(Don't worry. Be sharp. You will soon exit the storm and reach the teleport point. It's at the very center of this gas balloon.)

Very center, huh? So this whole planet was a disguise to hide a teleport point. But who built this thing?

(It was here. We built it when we lived in this dimension. We left the devices for the next generation but they got greedy and hid the points so no one but them can find those. Now only a select few people know about their existence.)

That was a nice history breakdown. Thanks you for the lesson. So any words of advice from you before I enter?

(None. You are ready. Just know that you will need to travel the same distance after exiting.)

That's no problem. If I want to, I can just teleport all the way to Fay's house. But I want to see it for myself. It's more thrilling that way.

(Ok. I won't disturb you for the next few days. Reach and settle down. We'll talk later.)

Ok. And now she's silent. So I have to first complete the Jupiter quest. Wait, is this some sort of RPG game?

No. Let's focus on the problem at hand.

"People, we will be arriving at the teleport point soon. Please look at the main screen.

And they all looked at once. Soon the storm faded and revealed a ginormous piece of metal.

No, it's a donut shaped machine. From its structure, it's way too advanced. Even I can't say if I can replicate it.

(Aera, can you analyze it?)

(No, master. That machine dates back to the creation of this dimension. I can't analyze something so old. I will need the memoir to analyze it.)

(The memoir? What's that?)

(It's something like a celestial diary. If I had even a fragment of that, I could completely analyze it.)

Then I will get that as well.

Everyone is stunned. Because that things is so huge that the moon could go in and out effortlessly.

"This is something. Wonder if I could make something similar?"

"Haaahh…you wanna make something like this? It's impossible even for you." (Fay)

"No. I can make one if I want but I don't know if it would be the same or not. Anyway, how do we turn this on?"

"There should be a docking station. Just dock there and ask it. This device has something of a consciousness. So it will grant permission afterwards." (Fay)

"So troublesome. Fine. But no docking. I will do it from here."

And I focus.

(Aera, can you send the message to it?)

(I can. We are identical. That uses <Spirit> as well. So I can probably. Let me check.)

Aera gets busy and soon the machine turns on. A black tunnel appears.

(Master, the portal is on.)

(That was quick.)

(Yes. Because it sensed your <Spirit> so I made a deal. But I didn't consult you before so please forgive me for making a deal.)

(Don't worry. What was the deal?)

(You would supply it some <Spirit>)

(That's all?)

(Yes. One hundred thousand <Spirit> would do.)

And I transfer the <Spirit> to the teleport point. I didn't think much of it but then something hit me.

"Fay, how does this machine determine? I mean, who to let in and who not?"

"It takes a long time and a lot of mana. So we had to keep supplying it mana for a month before it actually let us pass through."

So that's why it looked so malnourished. Like it had no fuel at all. But now, it's working like it's probably new. Anyway, we are going in.
