The breakfast was surprisingly pleasant for Violet. She was grateful that Allen didn't make things awkward after the kiss. He simply parted from her, kissed her forehead, and whispered, "Let's eat."

Indeed, Allen chose not to overdo everything. He took careful steps toward how he would show his affection toward Violet. He worried that she would think he was possessive after they were married.

She only signed the marriage contract. They haven't had a wedding ceremony yet, and he hasn't completely melted her heart. Occasionally, she was still moody toward their relationship, and Violet didn't respond to his I love you, and he wished she would soon accept him completely.

"How were Mr. Kent and Mr. Collins's conditions? Is it possible to visit them today?" Halfway to finishing their meal, Violet queried Allen.

Allen turned his head and lowered his gaze to Violet's fair face. His eyes were glued to watching her munching her food slowly, the way her jaw moved.
