Chương 35: A Good Boss
Since she is new, Alex decided to show her how he runs his shop today.
A customer walks in, and he greets them.
The new batch of smartphones comes in a variety of hues, as opposed to the previous generation, which was only available in black color.
Before purchasing the items, the consumer spent a few minutes selecting a color.
Meanwhile, Li Yihan—I mean, Yihan Li—is quietly watching him.
As time passes, more customers enter the shop.
Luckily, he can handle it on his own.
The crowd is more than he imagined because he has been closed for more than a week.
It mounts up every day, which is why he usually manages two families at once.
Yihan Li wanted to help him, but he shook his head, saying he could manage it.
Surprisingly, he can do it well.
While speaking with his customers, he reasoned that his month of experience is the reason why he can handle his situation.

He temporarily shuttered the shop for a lunch break.
He asked if she could cook, but she shook her head and apologized for it, saying, "I'm sorry."
He didn't mind, therefore he said it while making a motion indicating that he didn't mind and did not feel bad about it.
He walks to his kitchen and cooks for them meal.
There are hardly any people on the outside between noon and 3 p.m., so he decided to cook his favorite cuisine.
He cut the meat and eggplant, put them in a container, and washed them with water.
Opening the magic burner, he placed a pot on the small blazing flames, then added the chopped meat and eggplant, a cup and a half of water, an estimated drop of vinegar and soy sauce, 5 bay leaves, and an estimated drop of gently crushed peppercorns.
He neglected to chop the onions, so he did, then smashed some garlic cloves and added them to the pot.
Closing the lid, he simply watches it until he believes the food is ready to eat.
Yihan Li's stomach had been growling for some time before he served the lunch because of the aroma that had permeated the house.
He can hear it, but saying it would be embarrassing for her, so he just lets her be.
She noticed how aromatic the dish was, but the serving was too lethargic.
"Thanks for the food."
However, this is merely her perspective as a princess from a noble family, not her true personality.
As a previous adventurer, she didn't mind sleeping on the floor, but if someone offered her a bed, she'd gladly accept it.
Unless her instincts tell her not to take the offer, she would wait and make a prudent decision.
An example like this can help you understand the kind of person she is.
Her fox mask accurately described her personality.
Unfortunately or not, she abandoned that when she was younger.
Despite the lack of wealth, fame, and power… and the rest has been stated in the one piece opening, she trusts her instincts and believes that the house she is in right now is the safest place she can live.
She's never felt anything like this before so she thought her instincts must be, surprisingly, very accurate.
As they began to eat, Alex assumed she would put out the fox mask to eat, but the mask is actually an artifact.
A friendly reminder that a magic tool or device and Artifacts are the same but not the same at the same time.
She has control over which parts of her face are shown, and the only visible part is her mouth, which is used solely for eating.
He didn't mind, but he's honest enough to admit that he's interested about the face behind that mask.
But first, he needs to start eating.

'I'll be observing her tomorrow, and the day after that will be my last. The remaining days will be her start date, as well as the day I will continue my task.'
He pondered while sitting in the living room.
He is not strict, but this is simply a standard method from the book he read titled:
Entrepreneur: What do you do for the company you built? Are you busy? Can you become the ideal boss?
When he saw the title, he assumed that the book he was reading was a light novel about how the title works, but it is actually a guidance book for entrepreneurs like him.
I'm not sure if the term "entrepreneur" properly applies to him, but— Eh! Nevermind.
She didn't ask any questions, which surprised him… until the end of the day when he noticed a notepad full of her notes.
He gulped when he saw this.
'Where did this notepad come from?'
Fortunately, she only asked a few simple questions and did not ask any more.
Despite her age, she is showing him some respect.
After all, he is her boss now.
He may not have acknowledged it, but her mask is still bugging him because she did not take it off, but he chose to ignore it.
By the way, his computer is in his personal storage room, and just a thousand smartphone boxes are housed in the glass case.
He still doesn't want anyone to know the existence of his computer, and for the smartphone, he thought that it will be a long time before all the thousand smartphones are sold, and it will seem messy if he just put everything out.
He showed her room once the day had concluded.

Her room is located at the back of the shop, so he simply opens the door and allows her to enter and look around.
The shop's backroom was previously used for merchandise storage.

He also felt he could flex this to his future grandchildren.
"Are you aware that this bed has been with me for over half of my life?"

He shook his head, thinking about that foolish thought.
Anyway, he didn't anticipate it to be utilized by anyone.
Still, he is grateful that he did not throw it because it would be a shame if he let a woman to fall asleep on the floor.
On the other hand, he would not feel sorry for a man, but he would still be grateful that he did not throw away his old bed, as he might report him as an abusive boss to the authorities.
Anyway, the room is fine because he cleans it himself, but aside from the bed, it is essentially empty.
He considered offering his parent's former room, but she waved her hands and said that this was enough.
Since she was fine with it, he decided to leave her, and the day ended there.
