"To think I lost half of my biasing aura because of the crazy bastard. Ugh! This is sickening." Lin lay down, staring into the air at another end of the crystal floating rock. "I utilized my biasing aura to activate the quantum streak tablet and teleport away at the last moment. If not for that, I will probably be dead by now."
Lin stood and flew towards Adric. "The longer I spend here, the longer he catches his breath too. I don't know where he got that massive energy reserve from, but it will be trouble if he recovers it before I arrive."
Adric spread his elemental sense in search of Lin but could not find wind of him. His uneasiness grew as he impatiently searched for him. As he moved towards the other end of the rock, he felt something approaching quickly with a heavy aura. "As I thought, he slipped away. I best end this now."
An enormous water loop appeared behind Adrik as he raced for Lin. Water gathered in the centre of the loop as he went madly for Lin. Once he got within a few meters, he shot an enormous amount of water, shaped like a dragon with seven heads, each dragon head aiming for a different part of Lin.
"I didn't want to use this move soon, but I have no choice." Lin took out his spear, and his steps quickened like a mirage. It was the final foot technique of the phantasmal flow dance, which he had incorporated into a spear technique Xu taught him.
His movements became swift as his spear cut through the air. It was sharp and unbending. His swing was gentle but struck fiercely. Lin wrapped the spear in black flames and continuously twisted it to gather wind pressure around it, making the flames even fiercer. Lin stabbed the seven-headed water dragon as it got closer, releasing an enormous wind pressure mixed with fire.
The two powers clashed, however, Lin's overpowered Adric's and obliterated everything in its path. The encounter resulted in a large explosion, leaving a huge hole in the ground. Adric was blown away by the attack and crashed into the ground severely before coming to a stop.
He bled from his nose as he stood and held his left arm, gritting his teeth in pain. "What a monster." A bubble formed around Adric as he glared at the approaching Lin. Lin struck him a few times, but his attacks were all deflected by the bubble. Realising Lin could not break the bubble, he thought, "I will take this time to heal and deal with him afterwards. He is also weak right now, so it will be easier once I recover my strength a bit."
"Hey, are you coming out of that thing, or should I bring you out?" Lin coldly asked. "Bring me out if you can." Adric provoked with a sneer. "After tossing me around, you think you can hide behind a f@#$%^g bubble? A freaking BUBBLE!? HUH!? In your dreams."
Lin lifted his hands and clouds gathered above Adric, with black lightning flashing across it. "What the…?" Adric was lost for words. "Is he the one doing this? Then that means…"
"Hey! Are you f*&^%$g coming out, or should I drag you out?" Lin interrupted his thought. "Tch!" Adric grunted and remained where he was. "He doesn't have enough energy to launch an attack of that magnitude. He is just bluffing", Adric thought.
"Ah! I see. You probably think I am bluffing. Well, go to hell with your ignorance." Lin clenched his fist, and lightning poured out of the sky like water from a waterfall. "S@#$#! this is dangerous." Realizing his life was in danger with nowhere to retreat, Adric gathered his remaining power and flooded the bubble with water.
That move, however, quickened his death. The water around him allowed for the lightning to reach him faster. He was burned beyond recognition as the bubble broke. He was like a lump of moulded ash on the ground. Lin also blacked out and dropped with a thud. He had exhausted too much energy and had thus fainted.
The audience once again was left in awe. The surprises of the ranking bout were just too much for them. To think there was more than one dual wielder in the bout. They wouldn't have believed it had they not seen it with their own eyes.
"Impossible." Someone in the audience exclaimed. Many agreed with him. Never has there been a bout with more than one dual wielder.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Floating Frost, a man in a hoodie with a clown mask walked the streets with a card in his hands. He was about two meters tall with an athletic build. It was Mau, whom Lin defeated and sent off to Basilisk. "Shango asked me to put on a mask all the time, but this thing is really uncomfortable." Mau scratched his head as he went.
"It's been a few days since I started my search for Basilisk, however, my only lead is that guy in front of me, Osayo. Half masked a wheel tattoo on the other half of his face. Dark yellow eyes, very long black hair. He fits the description Shango gave me. I have been following him for a day now, but he only seemed to be moving from one party headquarters to another."
"Did he perhaps quit Basilisk?" Mau wondered as he followed Osayo into an alley.
Osayo stopped a few meters away and turned to him, "You have been following me all day. What do you want?" Osayo asked with a frown. He wasn't pleased in the least.
"Hahahaha. I didn't think you noticed me with how relaxed you were. I am…"
"I don't care who you are. What do you want?" Osayo cut him off before he could continue. Mau wasn't happy with how he was cut off. Especially as he was about to mention his name. However, since Lin asked him not to make trouble with Basilisk members, he held in his annoyance.
"I'm looking for the captain of Basilisk. It's quite important, so I would be glad if you could take me to her." Mau asked directly. Osayo's frown deepened as he replied, "And why should I? I don't owe you or Basilisk anything."
Mau was surprised by how he spoke. From what he inferred, it was as if he had a grudge against Basilisk. Mau didn't want to give in to his guesses, so he asked him directly, "What do you mean by that? You are a member of Basilisk, aren't you?"
"Who said I was a member of that pathetic little party that couldn't even take down a low-rank D blood cavern? Don't loop me in with those bunch of losers." Osayo grumbled and walked away.
"What's with this guy?" Mau wondered. "Excuse me. Could you at least tell me how to reach the captain?" Mau followed and asked. Osayo gritted his teeth and was ready to attack Mau. He held himself back and sighed, "Look, it's been a while since I left them. I don't know where they are. You can go look for them yourself", he angrily said and turned to walk away.
"Wait, Shango said not to mess with the members of Basilisk, but this guy doesn't count, right?" Mau grinned cunningly behind his mask as he watched Osayo go. "Besides, I hate his guts."
Osayo suddenly dropped to his knees as he heard a loud voice from behind, "Hey, who said you could leave when I'm talking to you? Didn't your parents teach you manners, huh!?"
As Osayo turned, Mau was already in the air with a giant hammer in hand, descending towards him. An explosion rocked the alley, sending debris and dust into the air. Some trash cans in the alley were sent flying into the street.
