Adrian exhaled slowly, feeling the weight of the night settle on his shoulders as he turned to Zack. "Prepare a room for the three of us," he instructed. "We need to freshen up."
Zack nodded quickly, his face still pale from the events in the study. "Yes, of course. Follow me."
As they left the dimly lit study, Adrian turned to the guards outside the door. His voice was firm, leaving no room for negotiation. "No one enters this room. All night. Understood?"
The guards exchanged glances before nodding, acknowledging the authority in Adrian's words.
Zack led them through the maze-like hallways of the manor, the grandeur of the place still impressive even after the events that had unfolded.
Each piece of art on the walls seemed to tell a story, one about a battle, a victory, or power.
Finally, they arrived at an elaborately carved wooden door. Zack gestured toward it with a small bow. "This is the master's bedroom," he said, stepping aside.
