Chương 1: Prologue
Victor - or Vi, was a baby happened to be found by a herb gatherer, in some wooden basket in the middle of nowhere. He ends up in an orphanage - growing well under Mother Anise care with his siblings until he eventually got adopted at 10.
'Dont forget to write to us okay!', Ray, a 10 years old boy who grew up with the other orphans represented the family of current 14 people. Vi entered the carriage of the local lord, Lord Miaster.
He got intrigued by the violet eyes and white hair - a characteristic of an ancient tribe of 'human', made by Selena the Moon Goddess Herself. He loves ancient history of the Erde - the world they are in. After all, stories on Gods, demons, holy relics, Divine descends, Demon Lord invasion, dragons and creatures of legends, there are so many interesting history or myths. Magic is reality in this world - and perhaps fairytales are just retelling of history.
Although... in just 2 years, the Lord's family, was eventually executed for 'treason' under a cover of 'accident' while they are travelling for a visit - at least that's what Vi understood after years. Its nothing more than a farce - as the Lord was one of the main supporter of the 2nd prince, a son of concubine - but ultimately he failed to ascend and ran away to who knows where after the bloody battle for the throne. The crown prince decisively put an end to any and all supporter he has, to avoid rebellion and retaliation. The common people of the kingdom cheered, as even though the new king decisive actions may be called as tyrannical, but he has abolished all the corrupt nobles - or executed - and the common people did felt their livelihood better.
Vi was not informed of the political matters early on, and he too never cared for it - and aren't really aware of what his adoptive parent did to warrant their ending. He eventually got displaced into the slums when he was just 12. The slums aren't as bad under the policies of the kingdom. There's even a newly built public bathhouse and small hospital for them recently. Though Vi lived with some people in cramped spaces. Thankfully, he had learn basics to magic in those 2 years and manage to get by by himself for awhile doing chores for the adventurer guild. They restrict magic beasts hunting and exploration for those under 15 so although Vi thinks he could do it with his skills, he can only do chores for a while.
After a month of settling himself, he writes a letter to the orphanage, to tell about things that had happened. Usually mother Anise reply would reach in 2 weeks or so... but he never got a reply. He visits the mail outpost each day to see if there's a letter for him but after 2 months of waiting and preparation, he ride the carriage across 2 towns and reached the place... only to find in horror the building was scorched and in ruin. Panicking, he ran to the adventurer guild and ask for information. A large fire engulfed the place a month ago - killing all the residents. Vi was beyond heartbroken. He ran back to the ruins, and make a makeshifts grave for all of them. Its difficult to move forward - but Vi who had memories from his past life recently recovered after such traumatic experience, at least had better mentality with those past memories. It still took years to move on, and it still pains him when he remembers the family he had. But life has to go on.
He was quite popular in the guild because his looks are a light a torch in the dark. Miss Erin, a worker of the guild are especially fond of pinching his cheeks and asked if he wanted to live with her and ask him to call her 'sister'. Eventually 2 years later an old magician scholar, Magi Timaeus took notice of Vi - and wanted to take him in as a student because of his talent in magic. Vi was very interested in magic and agreed. Timaeus was not a good parental figure and he's more like a teacher that always absent, staying in his room and when he is there he would only check Vi's progress as he gave tons of books for Vi to read and practice on. In a sense Vi was self taught - but Timaeus would correct the rare mistake and misunderstanding for him occasionally. He did take some blood samples from Vi a few times because of his abnormal mana regeneration talent to figure out what's is so special about them. There's an emotional gap between them, but Vi is still thankful to him for the resources that normal people will never get - well, at least if they aren't rich or have high enough position.
He can now instant cast simple spells - and modify simple ones to his liking. Magic is more like programming of the world - using Language of the World - called Origin.
Until one fateful day, in the middle of the night, he was awoken by a huge explosion and a loud ringing in his ears. He stood up in his pajamas, gulping his saliva. He hears more explosions and the walls and the floor shaking and cracks appears on the building. An adventure awaits him, as he move from town to town to cross the country with Ray - who were close to killing him that night.
