"How do you know that?" Fraunces asked, confusion apparent on her face.
"I listened."
"You just— you were eavesdropping?"
Rosalind cleared her throat. "I was looking for something and I accidentally overheard their conversation."
"So, what are we going to do? They are looking for the Count to kill him. The Countess is working with them and… we are stuck here without a way to leave. Are we supposed to wait for the Duke to come to save us?" Fraunces demanded.
"Are you doubting him?"
"Of course not! I know him, he is a hero! However, I am not a woman that needs to be saved."
"Right," Rosalind nodded. "Of course, you don't."
"For someone who has been through thick and thin together, you are abnormally cold. Why are you so upset?" Fraunces asked.
"We have never been through any of that."
"We have saved each other's lives, it is safe to say we have been through a lot."
Again, Rosalind nodded. She had no energy or emotion left to spare.
I would like to thank you for the well wishes. Everything is fine. Thank you. But I am going to tell you about a friend of mine. My 2 best friends were lawyers. I used to go to lawschool and we were friends since college. 1 of them is married, the other is still single. When the incident happen, I immediately called the single lawyer.
She created some agreements and even talked to the police. She lived 3 hours away so she can't just drive to the police station. Anyway, I was standing outside the police station when my married friend suddenly arrived. She just said she saw me standing. She asked what happened. Mind you, it was already nine in the evening and she was on her way home to her son.
She dropped everything just because she saw me and was concern! So, she accompanied me inside and fixed the situation in like 30 mins. I literally cried. I feel so blessed to have people showing up just like that.
